At the moment, Samsung is rapidly working to conclude the Android 11 update rollout for the remaining Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, the company has impressively managed to deliver this major update as every eligible flagship and dozens of mid-range and budget Galaxies had joined the One UI 3.x update party.

Aside from the Android OS upgrade rollout, the South Korean tech giant also releases new software updates that include additional features, security patches, bug fixes, and system improvements. Every Samsung fan knows that the Galaxy devices, launched since 2019, eligible for four years of regular security updates.

Installation of new security updates is necessary as they keep your device and privacy secure against newly found CVEs and exploits. At the same time, every new software update improves system stability and enhances the functions and stock applications for a better overall user experience.

Like every month, Samsung has already started releasing the June 2021 security patch to the latest Galaxy flagship lineup, even before changing the calendar month. With this release, the Galaxy S21 series became the first Samsung devices that have joined the June 2021 security patch club!

Samsung June 2021 Security Patch Details

Samsung’s June 2021 security patch update brings fixes for 2 Critical, 27 High, and 5 Moderate levels of CVEs as well as 19 SVEs to Galaxy phones and tablets. While fixes for 9 new CVEs already included in previous updates and 4 not applicable to Samsung devices.

Do note that Samsung offers regular security updates on a monthly, quarterly, and biannual basis. All the flagship devices get two years of monthly updates, while mid-range and budgets get new updates every three months. Furthermore, older phones receive two new security updates in the fourth year.

Unlocked Galaxy S23 November 2024 update

Following locked models, Samsung has now started rolling out the November 2024 security update for unlocked models of Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23 Ultra in the US. The update improves system security and stability to provide a better experience.

Users of unlocked Samsung Galaxy S23 models are getting a November 2024 security update with the One UI builds version given below.

  • S911U1UES5CXI8 – Galaxy S23
  • S916U1UES5CXI8 – Galaxy S23 Plus
  • S918U1UES5CXI8 – Galaxy S23 Ultra

The latest security update is here for the Galaxy S23 series, and it brings security fixes from both Google and Samsung. In total, 52 bugs and vulnerabilities have been patched in Android and Samsung software. Out of these, 38 are considered high-level by Google. There’s also one issue that doesn’t affect Galaxy devices.

Verizon reveals Android 15 November 2024 security patch details

Google has not yet released the latest security update for Pixel phones. Meanwhile, US carrier Verizon has already revealed the November 2024 security patch details for Google Pixel devices running Android 15.

Verizon support page (via 9to5Google) reveals that the Android 15 November 2024 security patch brings general improvements and stability to UI and animations. The page suggests that the rollout should have started on November 5, which didn’t.

Looks like Google addressed some major issues related to functional stability. Pixel 9 series users can expect even better and smoother animations. The November patch is said to bring stability in certain UI transitions and animations.

Apart from this, the carrier’s release notes contain details about the latest security patch coming to the Pixel 9 series. There are also details of what’s coming out for the Pixel 6, Pixel 7, and Pixel 8 series in the next few days.
