Samsung Galaxy S20 June 2021 security update rollout begins!
Over the past few days, Samsung updated the Galaxy S21 series and the Galaxy Z Flip 5G to the June 2021 security patch. However, this update has arrived even before starting the month of June, yet it’s not any surprising thing as the company impressively following the same since last year.
Now, the South Korean tech giant is expanding this newer security patch to more Galaxy devices and the Galaxy S20 series is the latest to grab it. According to the info, the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra are now receiving the June 2021 security update in United Kingdom and Luxembourg.
Users can identify this update via PDA release numbers: G981BXXS8DUE4, G986BXXS8DUE4, and G988BXXS8DUE4 for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and Galaxy S20 Ultra respectively. However, it’s an initial rollout, it could be expanded to other markets in the coming days or weeks.
Apart from the latest security improvements via installing the June 2021 patch, this new firmware doesn’t bring any new features or major system optimizations. Though the Galaxy S20 series is currently running the One UI 3.1, these models are ready to receive the upcoming One UI 3.5 update, which could release this summer.
It’s worth mentioning that the next One UI veJrsion i.e. the One UI 3.5 will not bring major user interface tweaks because the company reserved important changes for the next generation of the One UI. Samsung’s Android 12-based One UI 4.0 is expected to be announced in late September, while more info is yet to come.
