Here’s how to hide Mobile Hotspot icon on your Samsung device
Samsung Galaxy users can now hide the hotspot icon on their smartphones along with other indicator icons, thanks to the QuickStar Good Lock module.
Previously, users could customize the visibility of several indicator icons including VPN, Power Saver, Location, Date Saver, battery, Bluetooth, and more. Now, the Mobile Hotspot icon has been added to this list.
Last month, Samsung released the QuickStar 7.3.06.50 update, which introduced the ability to hide the mobile hotspot icon. This feature is particularly useful for users who prefer a cleaner quick panel and want to hide indicator icons.
To hide the Mobile Hotspot indicator icon on the quick panel of your Samsung devices, users just need to follow a few simple steps.
- Open the Good Lock app on your Samsung Galaxy device.
- Access the QuickStar Good Lock module and enable it by toggling the option.
- Navigate to the “Visibility of Indicator icons” option.
- Enable the feature with a single tap on the toggle.
- Locate the Mobile Hotspot icon in the list and toggle it off to hide it from the quick panel.
By giving users control over which icons appear in the quick panel, Samsung enhances usability and ensures a cleaner look that suits individual preferences. This feature simplifies the user interface and offers a more personalized experience.

One UI 7 adds sticky ‘Secured by Knox’ watermark in the App Drawer
Samsung One UI 7 update brings new features and some exciting changes, including a vertical app drawer and options for customization. In addition, Samsung has added a “Secured by Knox” watermark to the app drawer and it stays there all the time.
In One UI 7, the “Secured by Knox” watermark appears in the bottom-right corner of the app drawer, just above the search bar on your Galaxy phone. This can be distracting for users, and it also causes the last app icon in the drawer to be partially hidden behind the watermark.
The watermark is related to Samsung Knox, the security system designed to keep your data and apps safe. But the issue is that the watermark doesn’t seem to have any clear function. It doesn’t look like it’s adding much value to the user experience, especially since Samsung didn’t include this in earlier versions of One UI.
Unlike other features in One UI 7, this watermark can’t be removed. This is causing frustration among many users who prefer a cleaner, simpler look for their devices.
Though this is just the first beta version of One UI 7, and things could change before the final release. Hopefully, Samsung will allow users to disable it.
Aside from this, Samsung is offering advanced security and privacy features for Galaxy devices with One UI 7. It enhances advances Knox Matrix, Theft Protection, Auto Blocker and more enabling higher device safety.

Issues
Samsung One UI 7 Beta lock screen blur system is buggy
There’s a weird bug in One UI 7 Beta’s lock screen blur engine. Samsung has recently started the Public Beta Program and released the first Beta. While performance is decent, the lock screen issue needs to be fixed in the next Beta build.
IceUniverse is on a mission to help Samsung evolve the latest iteration of One UI. Recently, the tipster posted a screenshot, showcasing the bug in the blur engine of the lock screen in Samsung’s One UI 7 Beta software.
The lock screen brings a cool Now Bar feature and stunning widgets. The blur control is comparable to Apple’s iOS 18 operating system. Meanwhile, Samsung seemingly overlooked optimizing the blur system for the lock screen notification aspect.
As you can see in the screenshot below, the notification that appears on the lock screen has a nearly transparent overlay. It’s a whitish card that has the same shape as the primary notifications window but lacks proper blur application.
The card seems to have entirely skipped the blur application and the transparent white overlay differentiating the notifications from the lock screen wallpaper. It looks quite weird but it will be addressed in the second Beta firmware.
One UI 7 Beta Now Bar
Samsung’s Android 15 software is loaded with cool new features and UI tweaks. The Now Bar is a unique addition that makes it easier to operate running apps and services right from the lock screen on your Galaxy.
It’s not a static function but it packs dynamic optimization capabilities. It expands to a large card on the lock screen and when impended, it takes little space between the two lock screen shortcuts at the bottom of the screen.
Here’s a detailed post on the Now Bar, which you can access here.
