With each passing day, we are coming closer and closer to the next Samsung Unpacked event, which is expected to be held on August 11. The company will launch its new foldable phone lineup and more products at the virtual launch conference.

According to the latest info (via KoreaTimes), the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3 will be launched next month with lower price tags compared to predecessors. The report also suggests an expected starting price of the next foldable phone models that are:

  • Galaxy Z Fold 3: 1.99 million won ($1,744)
  • Galaxy Z Flip 3: 1.28 million won ($1,120)

If these prices remain the same at the launch event then the Galaxy Z Fold 3 price will be 17 percent lower than the 2.39 million won price of the Galaxy Z Fold 2. Furthermore, the price of the Galaxy Z Flip 3 is around 22 percent lower than the original Galaxy Z Flip.

With reduced pricing, Samsung seems to be working to increase the shipments and reach of foldable phones among consumers. Moreover, the report also says that it’s the company’s effort to boost sales of foldable phones to gain an advantage in terms of price against Apple that will launch new iPhones later this year.

Till now, Samsung has not confirmed the arrival of its foldable phone lineup, while an official announcement could be done later this month. However, it’s almost confirmed that several Galaxy products including Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 will launch on August 11.
