Samsung Android 13 Update: One UI 5.0, release date, eligible devices, features and latest news

Samsung is continuously expanding the Android 12 update to various compatible phones and tablets. On the other side, Google is rapidly working on the next major OS for 2022 — Android 13. However, Samsung will bring the One UI 5.0 with Android 13 OS upgrade to Galaxy devices.

Google may introduce the Android 13 Developer Preview edition sometime in February or March 2022. After around 4 DPs, the company will begin the Public Beta testing of the Android 13 operating system in May or June, followed by the AOSP release in October or November.

Android 13 Beta: One UI 5
As Samsung’s One UI 5.0 will be based on Android 13 OS, the OEM may start Beta testing in August or September 2022. To be mentioned, the Beta testing of the Android 12-based One UI 4.0 was begin in September, while the official rollout happened in mid-November.

Release Date: One UI 5.0
Samsung may unveil the One UI 5.0, based on the Android 13 operating system, sometime in September 2022. In addition, the Galaxy S22 series devices will be the first to be invited for Beta testing ahead of the Public release, which is expected later this year.
Update [Apr. 8] Samsung One UI 5 Beta could release by July 2022.

Following its tradition, Samsung announced the One UI 4.1 alongside the Galaxy S22 series, in February this year. After the One UI 4.1, check out which Galaxy devices will be getting the next major OS upgrade with a new One UI — One UI 5.0.

Android 13 Beta 2.1 update fixes several issues such as typing in the search bar resulting in an empty list of suggestions, the device crashing when turning on the hotspot or disconnecting Android Auto, and hearing a call dialing sound in the background during a phone call.

We are expecting the Android 13-based One UI 5 Beta activity for the Galaxy S22 line sometime in July or August this year. The program should be available in 7 countries like previously, letting consumers experience the new OS and features months ahead of its Public release.

Samsung Android 13 One UI 5.0 Beta/Stable release date revealed

I’m eagerly waiting for the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 upgrade for my Samsung smartphone, like other fans. Earlier reports revealed that the company will start Beta program in early July for the Galaxy S22 series, while a recent report gives us a more clear understanding about its Beta and Stable release date.
As per the SamMobile report, Samsung is reportedly launching the One UI 5 Beta program based on Android 13 in the third week of July. The Beta build will first be available for the Galaxy S22 series, well, it will expand to Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 consumers, later on.
As soon as Samsung starts the Android 13 Beta program, the Galaxy S22 series smartphone users will be able to join the activity in select regions. After testing the new One UI 5.0 update in Beta channel, Samsung aims to begin the Stable rollout by October this year.

In August 2020, the Korean phone maker announced that all the flagship Galaxy devices debuted with Android 9-based One UI 1.x software will be having three major OS upgrades. This announcement made an additional Android update possible for the famous Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 lineups.

While the Galaxy Note 10 and S10 lineups are not eligible to get any more major firmware, owners have to use their devices on the Android 12 OS. Meanwhile, Samsung will provide two more years of regular security updates to all of these devices following its February 2019’s promise.
Aside from this, it’s expected that the Korean phone maker will deliver the Android 12L-based One UI 4.1.1 upgrade to the ineligible Galaxy devices.
Update: Google released the Android 13 Beta 3.2 update for eligible Pixel smartphones with fixes for major issues and exploits. It comes with supplementary stability improvements to the new operating system, bringing it one step closer to its Public release.
