Samsung Galaxy S24 FE 5G spotted in UK carrier’s database. The phone is expected to be released later this year, while the carrier listing confirms the phone’s arrival. The carrier has nothing to show about the upcoming device besides the model number.

RootMyGalaxy spotted the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE in the device database of UK carrier EE. The phone would carry model number SM-S7210U in the region, possibly for the version sold through the carrier. This device will bring many pro-grade features to consumers at a lower price.

Previously, there were uncertainties regarding the S24 FE’s launch. However, many rumors and developments popped up in recent times confirming it’s in the works. The latest listing also confirms its UK launch, which is good news for Europeans.

The S24 FE is said to be equipped with the same chipsets as the S24 series. The Galaxy S23 FE comes with processors that Samsung used a generation back, the Galaxy S22 FE. There was no S22 FE, but the S23 FE debuted many upgrades over the S21 FE.

Samsung could surprise with three new flagship phones debuting in 2025. The company is reportedly considering adding new flagships to its lineup. The models include a Galaxy S25 Slim, Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, and Galaxy Z Fold 7 Special Edition.

According to the input, Samsung could launch the flagship Galaxy S25 Slim in April 2025 as well as Z Flip 7 FE and Z Fold 7 SE in the 2nd half. These models are different from routine launches such as the Galaxy S25 series and Z Flip/Fold 7.

Galaxy S25 Slim could come as a limited edition to test the design difference. If consumers prefer buying slim flagships, Samsung could make its next-generation Galaxy S smartphones slimmer, possibly releasing in 2026.

Samsung wants more and more consumers to upgrade to a foldable experience. The company told investors during the earnings call that it’s working to expand the foldable segment to an even broader audience, hinting at an affordable foldable in 2025.

Apart from this, the next Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition could launch alongside the standard model next year. This year, the company launched the Z Fold SE in South Korea and China, about four months after Z Fold/Flip 6 debut.

Well, the Korean tech giant would start 2025 with the launch of the Galaxy S25 series. The lineup would include a Standard, a Plus, and an Ultra model. We expect the flagships may be introduced by the end of January next year.

The next-generation foldable lineup will be launched in the second half. This year’s Unpacked took place in July and a similar timeframe would be picked for the next year’s Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 smartphones.

Samsung Galaxy S25 series to support Seamless Updates

Published

on

Seamless Updates is a long-due feature on Samsung, which could finally arrive with the Galaxy S25 series next year. The company is reportedly considering Seamless Updates support for its next-generation Galaxy S lineup.

Tipster ChunBhai claims that the Galaxy S25 series supports A/B (seamless) updates. Samsung’s Galaxy A55 5G also features A/B partition updates functionality. However, it hasn’t yet arrived on any flagship Galaxy device to date.

Notably, Seamless Updates require hardware-level setup. This means older Galaxy devices will still miss out on the advanced update installation method. If it debuts on the S25 series, future models may continue to feature Seamless Updates.

Google debuted A/B Partition a.k.a. Seamless Updates with Android 10. Virtual A/B updates have replaced Legacy A/B system updates in Android 10. Samsung has been refraining from bringing it to Galaxy flagships despite consumer demand.

Seamless Updates feature is 10x more beneficial than the conventional method. Users can continue to use their devices during an OTA. The only downtime during an update is when the device reboots into the updated disk partition.

Google Pixel phones install update while letting user continue using the phone. When the entire setup finishes, you just need to restart the device to install the new OTA. It takes 10 to 15 seconds to restart the phone and get the latest OTA installed.

Apart from reducing downtime, Seamless Updates also secure your device from software malfunctions. If an OTA fails to apply, the user will not be affected. The user will continue to run the old OS, and the user is free to re-attempt the update.
