Samsung One UI 4.1 features
Single Take
Samsung launched the Single Take feature with the Galaxy S20 series a couple of years ago. At first, it was only available for the flagship S and Note series phones. But now it is a common feature in most Samsung mid-range devices, even some budget users are applicable to use it.
When you tap on the shutter button, the Single Take feature captures multiple photos, videos, and slow motions using different filters. You can move around for up to 15 seconds to capture the moment from different angles. The AI later optimizes the shots to let you choose the best ones.
Here’s how to use Single Take:
- Open your phone’s Camera app.
- Select ‘Single Take‘ mode.
- Tap on the round button to start.
- Walk around to capture multiple dimensions of the moment.
- When you are done, tap on the preview thumbnail.
- To see more results, pull up.
Spot Color
The Samsung Gallery app has an amazing feature that lets you highlight the color of a photo. Spot Color is a color that is produced from a single printing plate with one matching ink color.
These colors are mainly used when just one or two solid colors are required on a page, when a color must match properly and be constant, such as with a business emblem, trademark, or others. To use it:
- Go to the Gallery app.
- Find and open the image that you want to edit and use spot color.
- Now, tap the edit or pencil icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap the 3 dots menu at the bottom right-hand corner and select Spot color.
Food Mode
Food Mode is specially created for food bloggers or people who usually post pictures of the dishes on social media. When you first start using it, you will find it similar to the portrait mode. It lets you pick the specific area to focus and the rest part shows some depth blur.
It is based on forms that identify food to achieve the best blur on high-end, mid-range as well as cheaper smartphones. When you use it, you won’t have to adjust the lights and colors of the dish’s picture, it automatically adjusts the coloring to make your dishes look even more delicious.
However, you will be able to adjust the depth as well as modify the color. Using it on any Samsung smartphone is very simple, here’s how:
- Open the Camera app on your smartphone.
- Swipe left and tap the More option.
- Click FOOD.
- To capture, make sure your dish is in the highlighted area.
- To adjust the color temperature, tap the Wheel icon in the top right corner, and then adjust the slider at the bottom of the screen.
- You can also tap Radial blur (the teardrop icon to the left of the Wheel) to blur the sides and background of your dish.
- Finally, tap Capture.
Device Care
Battery and Device Care also provides you with all the tools you need to keep your device running smoothly, while automatically optimizing your battery, storage, memory, and security. Samsung Device Care is an app designed to provide a more enjoyable experience while using a Galaxy smartphone.
It allows you to improve performance by giving you an overview of your battery, storage, RAM, and security. Plus, it clears up some storage space on your phone and can automatically optimize it for faster and better performance.
To use it, you can simply go to Settings >> Battery and device care and then select the desired option.
Adaptive Charging
Adaptive Fast Charging is the smartest option for charging your Samsung mobile devices. Not only is it fast, but it knows when to stop charging to extend the life of your battery.
Simply charge your phone from any power outlet. Compatible with Samsung’s range of fast charging chargers, you will hardly run out of power.

Apple seeks Samsung’s help to beat Galaxy S25 and S26 in USA

Apple demands discounted screens from Samsung Display to reduce the USA tariff burden, ultimately striving to keep the iPhone 17 cheaper than Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series and the Galaxy S26 series launching early next year.
According to TheBell, Apple is pressuring (or seeking help) Samsung Display and LG Display to offer iPhone 17 OLED screens at discounted prices. Apple expects the iPhone 17 price may go up due to heavy US tariffs on imports.
Samsung is determined to be a core OLED supplier for the iPhone 17 lineup. Apple expects Samsung would offer cheaper screens so its upcoming iPhone 17 series remains competitive against the Galaxy S25 and upcoming S26 series in the USA.
Here’s the Galaxy S25 vs iPhone 16 price comparison:
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 and Apple’s iPhone 16 start at $799 in the US. The Galaxy S25+ and iPhone 16 Pro share the same price, $999, with the iPhone 16 Plus costing $100 less. The top-tier models: the iPhone 16 Pro Max is $100 cheaper than the S25 Ultra.
Model | Storage | RAM | Price |
---|---|---|---|
Galaxy S25 | 128GB | 12GB | $799.99 |
Galaxy S25+ | 256GB | 12GB | $999.99 |
Galaxy S25 Ultra | 256GB | 12GB | $1,299.99 |
Galaxy S25 Ultra | 1TB | 12GB | $1,659.99 |
iPhone 16 | 128GB | 8GB | $799 |
iPhone 16 Plus | 128GB | 8GB | $899 |
iPhone 16 Pro | 128GB | 8GB | $999 |
iPhone 16 Pro Max | 256GB | 8GB | $1,199 |
iPhone 16 Pro Max | 1TB | 8GB | $1,599 |
Note: The prices mentioned in the table are list prices, not the current ones.
Think the iPhone 17 series costs the same as the iPhone 16 series, it would keep an edge over Samsung’s flagships in the US. If Apple increases the price, it would somewhat match Samsung’s models, which doesn’t seem favorable.
The report suggests that LG Display has agreed to Apple’s proposal of OLEDs are discounted rates. Meanwhile, Samsung’s display arm is said to be negotiating the deal with Apple over its demands for an affordable screen supply.

Apple may hand Galaxy S25 Edge a win with iPhone 17 Air battery

Apple is preparing to launch the iPhone 17 Air with a slim design. Samsung introduced the Galaxy S25 Edge, which is significantly thinner than the other S25 models. Meanwhile, the thin design comes at a significant cost: reduced battery life.
A new rumor sheds light on the potential battery capacity of the iPhone 17 Air. Apple’s upcoming slim phone features a battery below the 3,000 mAh mark. This input aligns with previous rumors that claimed a capacity to be around 2,800 mAh.
Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge packs a 3,900 mAh battery, which is almost 1,000mAh larger than the iPhone 17 Air. Apple’s product is rumored to be even thinner than the 5.8mm S25 Edge, but the battery rumor makes it discouraging.
Given its 3,900 mAh battery, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Edge faced huge criticism. The smartphone lasts all day with regular usage, thanks to One UI optimization and AI-derived battery life improvement features.
Apple’s also said to be improving the battery life of the iPhone 17 Air with an iOS feature. The device may leverage iOS 26’s new Adaptive Power Mode. It could make the phone last a full day to make it appealing despite a smaller cell.
In the past, Wayne Ma of The Information pointed out that Apple’s iPhone 17 Air would have “worse” battery life compared to previous iPhone models. This is because of the reduction in battery capacity to realize a 5.5mm thin profile.
Launched back in May, the Galaxy S25 Edge is up for purchase worldwide. In the US, it starts at $1,100 for 256GB storage and goes up by $119 for 512GB memory. It’s available in three Titanium colors, including IcyBlue, JetBlack, and Silver.
Samsung is currently offering $150 instant savings and up to $530 with trade-in. You can save more on ecosystem devices by bundling the Galaxy Buds 3 Pro at 35% reduced price, the Watch Ultra for $585, or the Tab A9+ for $165.

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra may display a blended design

The Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is creating a big buzz with early leaks spreading over the internet, and a few of its design specs have revealed for an early preview, including the display dimensions.
Over the years, Samsung’s Ultra model has evolved in its shape and size, keeping the display at the core of all the major upgrades. The company introduced the S20 Ultra with a curved-edge screen. The Galaxy S24 Ultra reduced its frame curve and flattened the display, providing a new in-hand experience.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra brought the next big change, replacing the sharp corners with round shapes and a sqaured the frame all around. That said, the display has become crisper and the aspect ratio has increased further with slim bezels all around.
Despite having the same size as the S24 Ultra, the new model managed to expand at 6.9 inches and cut down weight by 14 grams. Galaxy S26 Ultra will continue this tradition and take things a little further.

According to prominent tipster @UniverseIce, the next-gen flagship will increase display size to 6.89 inches, upgrading from 6.86 inches in the S25 Ultra. So, it’s a 0.03-inch increase.
The size mentioned here is actually the viewable area and not the entire panel. That means the phone could have a 6.9-inch display with the least bezels around the edges. So, you can expect the Galaxy S26 Ultra to blend its display within the frame and expand the viewing angles for better content quality.
Samsung will likely continue the Galaxy S25 Ultra design in 2026, which includes the titanium frame, strengthening the phone and managing the weight. Meanwhile, the front-selfie cutout will retain its spot.
Samsung Galaxy 26 Ultra will launch in early 2026, some reports indicates that the phone will feature second gent Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and improve the telephoto camera.

Samsung Galaxy A56 arrives in the US and it’s a painful deal

Samsung launched the Galaxy A56 5G in the US, but there’s a big problem: the price. It’s the first time in years that the company is bringing its premium-tier Galaxy A phone to America, and its pricing strategy makes zero sense.
Galaxy A56 5G is now available for purchase in the US. It starts at $499 and features two “Awesome” color options, including Lightgray and Graphite. I can’t recommend this purchase at this price over a decent alternative.
Galaxy S24 FE is also up for purchase in the United States. It comes at a list price of $649 for 128GB and $709 for 256GB. Meanwhile, the smartphone is currently selling for just $525 and $585 for 128GB and 256GB, respectively.
The Galaxy A56 uses the Exynos 1580 chipset, pairs up to 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of storage. It boasts a 5000mAh battery and supports 45W fast charging. It has an in-display fingerprint sensor but lacks wireless charging and powershare like the S24 FE.
From the software part, the Galaxy A56 ships with Android 15-based One UI 7. It’s eligible for six years of OS and security updates. Compatible AI features include Object Eraser, Best Face, AI Select, and Circle to Search by Google.
The Galaxy A56 comes with flagship-grade features, but it’s not a deal to consider as Samsung’s already offering its Fan Edition. You can a longer software and OS support, a full-fledged Galaxy AI, and priority software updates.
From appearance, the Galaxy S24 FE looks better than the A56. The new Galaxy A56 is still a Samsung midranger, while the flagship segment blood flows in the S24 FE’s veins.
If you still prefer the A56, you should wait for a few months. Once Samsung announces a deal, the price may go down by $50 to $100 for the Galaxy A56. It will be a worthwhile deal at a price range between $400 and $500.

Galaxy Z Fold 7 isn’t unfolding flat but Samsung plotting crease-free Z Fold8: Report

Samsung hasn’t yet released the Galaxy Z Fold 7 to customers, but some store demo units have a hinge/unfolding flaw. The company has unveiled its new foldables on July 9 and is eyeing to bring a crease-free display to the Galaxy Z Fold8.
Galaxy Z Fold 7 Hinge Flaw
Certain Subreddits are filled with Galaxy Z Fold 7 pictures over its alleged hinge unfolding problem. Netizens are posting images of the device, showing hinge inconsistencies in Samsung’s newly launched foldable smartphone.
The issue, meanwhile, seemingly limited to store demo units. Folks over at AndroidCentral confirmed that their unit has no such problem, and it folds and unfolds flat as usual.

Source – u/djda9l | Reddit
With shipments starting July 25, we are hopeful that consumer units will have no such quality issues. Any widespread hardware defect would significantly harm the sales streak of the device that Samsung shouldn’t risk.
We will closely monitor reports and feedback to see if consumer units have any quality flaws related to the screen or newly adopted hinge technology. You can also reach out to us through X DM over @thesammyfans on X.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 Crease-free Display
Apple analyst Ming Chi Kuo reports that Fine M-Tec is investing a huge amount in ultra-precision laser processing capacity. The Samsung Display partner is closely related to ensuring a crease-free foldable screen for the foldable iPhone.
Kuo believes that Samsung will also adopt crease-free display technology for its next-gen foldable model, the Galaxy Z Fold 8. The smartphone will hit the market in the second half of next year, and a creaseless screen is most likely.
The improved panel is said to utilize higher-ASP laser-drilled display metal plates. With the first foldable iPhone potentially coming next year, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 must raise the bar before Apple’s entry in the foldable segment.
