Samsung updates Galaxy Watch 3, Watch Active 2 with enhanced icons and stability
Over the past couple of weeks, Samsung updated several Galaxy devices to the May 2021 security patch and still releasing it to the remaining ones. Additionally, the company is also rolling out the June 2021 security patch since last night to the Galaxy S21 series, followed by the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
Aside from this, the South Korean tech giant also updating its Tizen OS-based wearable devices with new features and improvements as the future Galaxy Watches are confirmed to come with the new version of Wear OS instead of its own developed Tizen operating system.
Now, the company’s two recent smartwatches started getting new firmware update in South Korea. This update bears version numbers: R840XXU1BUE3 and R820XXU1DUE3 for the Galaxy Watch 3 and Watch Active 2. If we go with the changelog, it enhances the auto walking/running icons, plus improves the ‘Inactive time alerts’ icon.
Note: It’s an initial rollout, so it may soon be available widely.

- Launch Galaxy Wearable app.
- Tap on Home > Watches software update.
- Go to Download and install.
- Hit Install now if an update is available.

Samsung has started rolling out the advanced 4G band support update for Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, Galaxy XCover 7, and Galaxy XCover 6 devices. The update 4G network compatibility by enhancing the band.
The fresh update has revised support for the LTE TDD band. For German-purchased devices, the update will disable TDD 4G network support in ten European countries including Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
In addition, the update also improves the security and stability of the device. It also fixes some issues for error-free services.

Google has rolled out a ‘Government’ badge on the Play Store to identify official apps. This badge is marked by an icon of a building and appears in various sections of the store, including the main app feed, search results, and on app pages, next to the app’s rating.
Over 3,000 official apps have received the government badge after a period of testing. Google has collaborated with the respective governments and their developers to ensure the authenticity of these apps.
The badge is now visible on official apps from state and federal governments in several countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, the UK, and the US.
It is recommended by official parties or agencies to use government emails when setting up their developer accounts. Apps that involve sensitive information, like voting or ID services, undergo extra verification.
By clicking on the badge, you can confirm that the app is verified and affiliated with a government entity. This new feature aims to provide users with a secure way to access government services through their mobile devices.
