List of eligible Samsung Galaxy devices for monthly and quarterly security updates [January 2021]
Samsung has released the details of the January 2021 security patch, which brings new security patches for Samsung devices. Additionally, the company has also updated the list of eligible Samsung devices for monthly and quarterly security updates.
In the latest list, the most recently released Samsung Galaxy devices have now been added to its update schedule. While some of the devices have been demoted from their monthly security update cycles.

ADDED AND REMOVED SAMSUNG DEVICES:
Samsung has not added any new devices to the January security update list. However, the company has moved the Galaxy J4 Core from quarterly updates to other regular updates section. On the other hand, Samsung didn’t remove any devices from its security bulletin list.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, XCover 7, and XCover 6 Pro get enhanced 4G support update
Samsung has started rolling out the advanced 4G band support update for Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, Galaxy XCover 7, and Galaxy XCover 6 devices. The update 4G network compatibility by enhancing the band.
The fresh update has revised support for the LTE TDD band. For German-purchased devices, the update will disable TDD 4G network support in ten European countries including Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
In addition, the update also improves the security and stability of the device. It also fixes some issues for error-free services.

Google Play Store widely releasing ‘Government’ badge for official apps
Google has rolled out a ‘Government’ badge on the Play Store to identify official apps. This badge is marked by an icon of a building and appears in various sections of the store, including the main app feed, search results, and on app pages, next to the app’s rating.
Over 3,000 official apps have received the government badge after a period of testing. Google has collaborated with the respective governments and their developers to ensure the authenticity of these apps.
The badge is now visible on official apps from state and federal governments in several countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, the UK, and the US.
It is recommended by official parties or agencies to use government emails when setting up their developer accounts. Apps that involve sensitive information, like voting or ID services, undergo extra verification.
By clicking on the badge, you can confirm that the app is verified and affiliated with a government entity. This new feature aims to provide users with a secure way to access government services through their mobile devices.

Samsung Galaxy Note 20 series and Galaxy M33 5G smartphones are getting a new update with April 2024 security patch in India. This update fixes several issues to enhance the security and stability for a better user experience.
April 2024 security patch fixes over 40 issues to make the smartphone more secure, stable, and reliable. It mainly resolves problems related to Storage Manager Service, Out of bounds write, and more. It also enhances some functions to provide smoother performance.

Samsung is rolling out an April 2024 security update for the Galaxy Note 20 series with a One UI build version N98xBXXSAHD3 and Galaxy M33 is receiving it with PDA version M336BUXXS7DXD1 in India.
If you have received the notification of the update then install it now to get a bug-free experience. You can also check the update by visiting the Settings app on your smartphone and opening the Software Update section.
Now, click on the Download and install option. If any update is available, you can follow the on-screen instructions to install the update on your Galaxy smartphone.
