Samsung smartphones have already received the January 2021 security patch via OTA. Now, the South Korean tech giant has announced the January 2021 security patch bulletin for its devices. Along with Google security patches, Samsung provides 9 Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items, in order to improve customer’s confidence in the security of Samsung Mobile devices.
Samsung security index (SSI), found in “Security software version”, SMR January 2021 Release 1 includes all patches from Samsung and Google. Some of the SVE details may not be included in this list, in case these items were already included in a previous support release.
The January 2021 security patch from Samsung fixes different levels of exploits and issues within Samsung phones including 1 Critical, 47 High, and 0 (None) Moderate levels of CVEs. On the other hand, the company has also released the list of eligible Samsung devices for monthly and quarterly security updates.
