Samsung XR OLEDoS

Samsung Display is the first to publicly introduce an RGB version of OLEDoS (OLED on Silicon). OLEDoS are high-definition displays with small pixel sizes, achieved by applying organic materials to silicon wafers. These displays will play a crucial role in XR headsets, which are growing in popularity.

This will be the highest resolution RGB OLEDoS display when compared to what is available in the industry currently. Despite its small size of 1.03 inches, it boasts a pixel density of 3500 PPI, comparable to a 4K TV.

RGB OLEDoS utilizes red, green, and blue OLEDs on a silicon wafer to generate colors without the need for a separate light source. eMagin will showcase its products at the event, including its OLEDoS-enabled military helmets and night vision goggles.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 crease to be smaller, Flip 7 to get new hinge

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 update September 2023 update US

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 might bring a smaller crease over its predecessor. A new report indicates that the company will use thicker ultra-thin glass (UTG) for the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s folding screen.

Upgraded ultra-thin glass (UTG) in Galaxy Z Flip 6 will result in a smaller crease and durable screen. While the Galaxy Z Flip 5 comes with a UTG of 30 microns, the Galaxy Z Flip 6 might use 50 microns thicker UTG.

TheElec reports that the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s new UTG should bring improved surface hardness and a smaller crease. Besides, a new hinge and even thicker UTG is expected to be employed in the next Flip smartphone.

The South Korean tech giant has greatly reduced the crease visibility with each iteration. Last year, both foldable phones debuted the new waterdrop hinge, which lets them fold flat without leaving a gap in the middle.

Samsung hasn’t yet confirmed the launch of its upcoming foldable phones. However, the event is expected to take place on July 10 in Paris, France, in view of 2024 Olympics kicks off in the same month.
