Samsung Galaxy S26 October 2026 update now rolling out in the US and Canada

Samsung Galaxy S26 series

Samsung has expanded the October 2026 security update for the Galaxy S26 series in the US and Canada. The new update brings the latest security improvements to Galaxy S26 users and helps keep their phones safe from security problems.

For Galaxy S26 users in Canada, the update comes with firmware version S948WVLS4BZIG. In the US, the update is available with firmware version S948U1UES4BZIG. The update is live for unlocked models of the Galaxy S26 series in the US.

The main change in this update is the new October 2026 security patch level. Samsung regularly releases security updates to fix security issues found in Android and its own software. Installing the latest security patch can help protect your phone from possible security threats.

Samsung Galaxy S26 series

The October update may also include general bug fixes and improvements to the phone’s performance and stability. However, this is mainly a security-focused update, so users should not expect major new features or big changes to the user interface.

The update is around 531.24 MB in size. Users should make sure their phone has enough battery and is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network before downloading and installing the update.

Galaxy S26 users can check for the update by going to Settings >> Software update >> Download and install. If the update is not available yet, users may need to wait a little longer because Samsung usually releases updates in stages.

Galaxy A55 One UI 9 Beta 3 changelog:

  • A  key fix for Wi-Fi stability improvements

  • Fixed an issue where fast charging was not working.
  • Fixed an issue where battery protection failed when powered off.
  • Fixed a bug in the camera app where the “Quick setting” icon appeared during image capture with a timer.
