Googlebook finally adds Samsung phone support and fixes setup issues
Google is rolling out new updates for Googlebook to fix problems and make it easier to connect Samsung phones to laptops. These updates will help users connect their devices and use them together more easily.
When Googlebook first launched, it did not support Samsung phones. Due to this, some users could not use features that connect their phones and laptops. One user even returned their Googlebook because it did not work with their Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8. Google had promised to add Samsung support, and the update is now rolling out.
The new update supports Samsung phones running One UI 9, based on Android 17. It brings four features: Continue On, Cast My Apps, Quick Access, and Notification Sync. These features help users connect their phones and laptops and make it easier to use both devices together.
Google is also updating Google Play Services to make the setup process easier. The update fixes a problem where the QR code sometimes remained on the screen even after the phone was connected. Both updates will arrive automatically over the next few days. Keeping devices connected to Wi-Fi and charging may help them receive updates sooner.
Users who still face connection problems should check their settings. Their phones must run Android 17, and Samsung users also need One UI 9. Both devices must use the same personal Google Account, with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi turned on.
Google recommends using a private home Wi-Fi network because public networks may block connections between devices. Users should also have Google Play Services version 26.37 or later and Cross-device services version 1.0.1346 or later. If problems continue, they should check the required settings and restart both devices.

Samsung confirms full warranty even though you receive a pre-activated Galaxy phone
Samsung consumers are receiving pre-activated Galaxy phones in India, which is causing them to fear potential issues with the warranty. Samsung has just clarified the warranty policy, pledging a full year of coverage regardless of activation.
Samsung confirms full warranty for pre-activated Galaxy phones
Amazon and Flipkart are running festive season sales in India. Galaxy S25 Ultra is the biggest deal, along with the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 FE. Meanwhile, shoppers are finding that the devices were already activated months before.
The interesting part is that consumers are receiving a sealed retail box. However, the device inside shows a backdated activation date. It’s happening even though the device was manufactured in the month of September 2026.
Indian consumers are reporting the problem on social platforms for redressal and awareness as well. I have seen Amazon replies suggesting to users that they will receive a replacement unit or they can opt for a refund instead.
Samsung has now come to light, confirming that the warranty will be provided based on the date mentioned on the purchase invoice. That said, if you’ve bought the device in October 2026, it is covered till October 2027.
Hi, please don’t worry!
Your product warranty will be considered from the date mentioned on your purchase invoice, regardless of the pre-activation status.
Thank you for your understanding, and we hope you enjoy your new device!
That being said, you don’t have to worry about the warranty just because the device shows it was activated earlier. Keep the original purchase invoice for an effortless warranty claim experience in case you need one in the future.

Samsung and NVIDIA chiefs just flexed the Galaxy Z Fold 8 on stage together
Samsung Electronics Chairman Jay Y Lee and NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang shared an unexpected moment of product promotion at the Korea Society Gala, with both executives revealing that they use the Galaxy Z Fold 8.
Huang kicked off the exchange by holding up his phone while addressing the audience, identifying it as a Samsung Galaxy device.
Lee then joined the fun, pulling out his own foldable (via IceUniverse) and revealing that the two technology leaders share a preference for Samsung’s latest flagship.
“We both like the Galaxy Z Fold 8,” Lee said while proudly showing off the device, drawing laughs and applause from the room.
Of course, seeing Huang use a Galaxy Z Fold 8 does not automatically make it an official endorsement or a coordinated marketing campaign.
Whether the appearance was spontaneous or planned, Samsung received a welcome moment in the spotlight.
With Huang and Lee publicly displaying the same foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 found itself at the center of an unusually entertaining meeting of the technology industry’s heavyweights.
For Samsung, Huang’s apparent preference is particularly interesting given the companies’ expanding business relationship. Samsung supplies advanced memory technologies and other chip components that support NVIDIA’s AI infrastructure.

Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra to feature DC Dimming to tackle PWM screen flicker
Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra could be equipped with DC Dimming. The inclusion of this technology would help the phones overcome the traditional display letdown: the PWM screen flicker effect.
X tipster @WalleGalaxy reports that the displays used in the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra use DC Dimming technology. The biggest benefit of this upgrade is less eye strain that is typically caused by PWM flickering.
Existing Galaxy screens rely on Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) to adjust screen brightness. Galaxy phones offer high peak brightness, yet the screen can cause eye strain for some users sensitive to fast lighting on and off at high frequencies.
The advanced DC dimming technology manages screen brightness by lowering the actual electrical current going to the pixels. That said, the panel’s brightness goes down without causing the flicker effect, typically seen on camera screen.
Additionally, the tipster said that the Korean tech giant is in talks with various display safety firms as part of exploring techniques to overcome the flicker problem and lessen it on the upcoming flagship phones.
Galaxy S27 series display leaks
Reports suggest Samsung Display is assigned to manufacture OLED displays with M16 material set for the two upper-tier Galaxy S27 models, while the two low-tier phones would feature M14+ screens, a minor upgrade over M14.
In addition, Samsung may also bring its professional Privacy Display technology to the Galaxy S27 Pro and Galaxy S27 Ultra. This year, the hardware-level privacy screen is exclusively used in the Galaxy S26 Ultra flagship.
The S27 Pro | S27 Ultra displays support DC dimming, which helps reduce eye strain.
Samsung is collaborating with various safety firms to understand how to lessen eye strain problems experienced in earlier models.

Samsung S99H OLED becomes the first TV to win three top awards
Samsung has made history with its S99H OLED TV by winning all three major awards at the HDTVTest 2026 TV Shootout. The TV won Best TV of 2026, Best Home Cinema TV and Best Living Room TV. It is the first TV ever to win all three awards at the annual event.
The event was held in association with Crampton & Moore, an independent electronics retailer. A panel of eight industry experts, reviewers and TV enthusiasts selected the winners through blind testing.
Samsung S99H OLED was tested in eight picture-quality categories, including colour accuracy, HDR performance, motion handling, screen uniformity, video processing and picture quality in both dark and bright rooms.
The TV impressed the judges with its ability to deliver excellent picture quality in different conditions. It is designed to provide a great experience when watching films in dark rooms, as well as sports and regular TV programmes in brighter spaces.
Vincent Teoh, founder of HDTVTest and host of the TV Shootout, praised the S99H OLED for its strong performance across different types of content and viewing conditions. He highlighted its ability to deliver a good viewing experience for both films and sports.
Dan Harvie, Vice President of Home Entertainment and Appliances at Samsung UK and Ireland, said the achievement was a great honour for Samsung. He added that the awards recognised the hard work and technical skills of the company’s engineering team.
The Best Home Cinema TV award recognises the TV’s performance in dark rooms, while the Best Living Room TV award highlights its performance in brighter surroundings.
Winning all three awards is a major achievement for Samsung. The result shows the S99H OLED’s ability to deliver high-quality pictures for films, sports and everyday entertainment, making it a strong option in the premium TV market.

Apple cuts iPhone 18 Pro orders by up to 20% amid weak demand
Apple has reportedly reduced orders for parts used in the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max by at least 15% in October. The main reason is believed to be higher prices, which may be stopping some customers from buying the new phones.
According to the latest information, Apple had asked some suppliers to reduce orders for the two premium models. One industry source said the cuts were between 15% and 20% compared with Apple’s original plans.
However, the size of the cuts differs from one supplier to another. It is also unclear whether Apple will reduce orders further from November.
The reported cuts come after Apple launched its premium iPhone models in September. The higher prices may be making customers think twice before buying the new devices.
The main reason for the price increase is the rising cost of memory chips. Demand for these chips has grown because of the rapid development of AI, making them more expensive. Higher component costs can increase the price of smartphones and make it harder for companies to attract buyers.
Apple launched its premium models and the Duo in September. The standard iPhone 18 and an updated iPhone Air are expected to arrive in early 2027. This launch schedule may also affect the number of components Apple needs in the coming months.
The order cuts do not affect all suppliers equally. It is still unclear whether they show a lasting drop in demand or a temporary change caused by higher prices and launch timing. Apple’s future orders will provide a clearer idea of demand. Stay tuned.
