Samsung Galaxy S24 series suddenly go cheaper in South Korea!

Samsung Galaxy S24 S23 Play system update

Starting today, LG U+ has doubled up the public subsidy for Samsung’s Galaxy S24 series. The big hike in the S24 public subsidy takes the overall benefits to a maximum of 450,000 won, effective from today. It comes as a result of the Korea Communications Commission requesting an expansion of public subsidies.

It is quite unusual to raise the public subsidy just three days after its official launch. As a result, pre-order customers ended up buying the product at a higher price than the official sale. The number of customers who pre-ordered the S24 from LG U+ increased by 25% compared to the previous version.

LG U+’s publicly announced subsidy for Samsung’s Galaxy S24, S24 Plus, and Ultra ranged from 120,000 to 450,000 won depending on the plan. Compared to the previous subsidy, it increased by 68,000 to 246,000 won on the company’s new flagship phones.

This expansion of publicly announced subsidies is interpreted as the influence of government policy pressure. At a recent meeting, the Korea Communications Commission reportedly called for the expansion of public subsidies for smartphones, including the Galaxy S24 series.
