Samsung Display holds orders as Apple is yet to finalize OLED MacBook spec

Samsung Display started placing orders for 8G OLED equipment for IT use from Korean equipment makers last month, but orders for evaporators, which take the longest to manufacture equipment, have not yet been placed.

Probably, Samsung Display will place an order for an evaporator from Canon Talkie in Japan. There is a possibility that the company will complete orders for 8th-gen OLED equipment by next month for Korean equipment makers.

According to TheElec report, Samsung Display has not yet placed an order for an 8th-gen OLED evaporator for IT from Canon Talkie in Japan. Orders for evaporators, which take the most time to manufacture, did not go out.

Regarding this, it is interpreted that Samsung Display’s investment in 8th-generation OLED for IT has been decided, but Apple’s OLED MacBook specifications have not yet materialized.

Apple plans to apply OLED to MacBooks starting with the release of the first OLED iPad next year, but the OLED MacBook specifications have not yet been specifically determined.

Samsung Display can place an order for an evaporator from Canon Talkie by reflecting the size of the 8th generation glass plate optimized for the size of the MacBook only when the specs of the OLED MacBook are materialized.
