Samsung unveils big camera and gallery update for Galaxy S23 with major improvements
Samsung has started pushing a big camera update for the Galaxy S23 smartphones a day before the end of March, as promised. The latest firmware for the newly launched flagship comes with several new features and improvements for camera and gallery apps.
Through this rollout, the company mainly enhances camera functions, image quality, and gallery usability. The big update of Samsung Galaxy S23 takes your phone’s camera to a next level and provides a smoother experience.
WHAT’S NEW
The refreshed version of the Galaxy S23 adds a function to Gallery that lets you quickly delete photos that are processed by the camera right after they’ve been taken. In addition, for faster photo capturing, the AF concept has been changed so that when the user presses the shooting button, the user can take a photo even when the focus is not fully set.
If you shoot after setting the focus, you can change the settings through the latest Camera assistant to shoot better. For this, you have to open the Camera Assistant module of the Good Lock app and then enable the option to prioritize focus over motion.
Going forward, the Korean tech giant has made the camera app’s video mode better. You may now notice improved sharpness/flicker when shooting ultrawide in low light indoors after setting Super Steady On.
Not only this, but Samsung also fixes the appearance of the green line that emerges on the left-center when the rear camera is shooting in photo mode. The company has also improved image stabilization when shooting with FHD60 after turning off Auto FPS in the rear video.

When shooting high pixels in low-mid light, the latest update improved line-shaped banding noise in the sky in mid-low light. Overall sharpness has been optimized during high-pixel shooting, and intermittent blurring has been improved through OIS stabilization
Furthermore, the version fixes the malfunction when shooting after a Scene Optimizer is off in low light. For that, you just need to open Camera Assistant >> Shooting Speed >> High Resolution >> Speed Priority >> Camera > Night Off or Scene Optimizer Off
It mends an issue where facial recognition could not be performed intermittently after ending a third-party video call. Moreover, the stability of camera movements that through other routes has been enhanced.
The latest firmware is rolling out gradually so it may take hours/days to reach your Galaxy S23 device. You can check the update via the Settings app, then tap on Software updates, and press the Download and install option.
