Samsung’s first gaming laptop with OLED display

Samsung Display is the world’s largest producer of digital communication displays. The company at the display week 2022 said that it is going to spotlight a wide range of most advanced display technologies.

Samsung Display is soon going to launch a gaming laptop that will feature an OLED screen with a 240Hz refresh rate, at the end of the year 2022. Samsung has already showcased the 15-inch Razer Laptop with OLED panel and QHD resolution at the display week.

All the specifications of the laptop are not known but could feature an Intel’s 12th Generation CPU along with Nvidia RTX 3070 Ti GPU. Samsung showcased the new category of Gaming Foldable OLED that maximizes the portability when not in use. Holding the device vertically allows a multiple display setup, providing a rich gaming experience.

Samsung QD-Display is the world’s first self-illuminating display that has built-in quantum dots that does not need any backlight. The company has demonstrated the QD panels in three different sizes. 55-inch and 65-inch for TVs and 34-inch for monitors.

The upcoming display to feature HDR10+ and Dolby vision capabilities. OLED provides a faster pixel response and is suitable for a smoother gaming experience. Samsung has also redefined mobile displays at display week and showcased the concept prototypes including Flex G and Flex S.

The basic difference between Flex G and Flex S is that one folds inward twice and the other folds inwards as well as outwards. The Display Week will run for 3 days from May 10 to 13, 2022 in San Jose, California. You can visit there and have a look at flex gaming.

May 2024 security update has been rolled out to a wide range of devices including the Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy Note 20 Ultra, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy A13, Galaxy Tab S9+ 5G, Galaxy S22, Galaxy S20 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy A54, Galaxy S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 4, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

A notable issue with the Always On Display (AOD) feature has been reported by users employing LockStar, particularly when the “Automatically Restart” function is active. Samsung has acknowledged this problem with the One UI 6.1 and is preparing an update to resolve it.

Samsung‘s flagship Galaxy S24 Ultra has been in the spotlight, not just for its amazing features but also for persistent camera issues that have bothered users. Despite several software updates, these camera issues remained unresolved. Now, it seems that the company will resolve the Samsung Galaxy S24 camera issues with the June 2024 update.

According to a reliable tipster @UniverseIce, Samsung is testing a new software version S928BXXU2AXEA, which is confirmed to fix the camera issues. This version is of the Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphone.

Samsung now aims 270 million Galaxy device production in 2024

Samsung has reportedly increased its Galaxy device production plan for 2024. A report says that the company now aiming to produce 270 million units this year, a substantial 17 million hike compared to the original target of 253 million units.

South Korea’s TheElec also reports that Samsung could increase JDM smartphone production by 23 million units. In particular, joint development and manufacturing would be increased from 44 million units to 67 million units in China this year.

Last year, the South Korean tech giant was estimated to have set a plan to produce 253 million devices in 2024. Of the 253 million units, 44 million units were to be produced through JDM in China, which is going to be 67 million units – an increase of 23 million units.

Of the smartphone volume that Samsung plans to produce directly this year, 28 million units, are outsourced by Hansol Technics and Dream Tech at their Vietnamese factories. The volume of Hansol Technics is known to be 25 million units and that of Dream Tech is 300,000 units.
