Samsung Electronics and LG display are mainly negotiating for the low-end models among large OLEDs. Samsung dealing with the talks only for the top model of the entry-level. Looking at this we can clearly say Samsung has the intention to reduce OLED TV manufacturing costs, which will directly affect the TV selling cost, and is important for its OLED lovers.

‘TheElec’ reports revealed that Samsung Electronics hopes to receive an OLED Display, to be identified as M-grade, 150 nits panels, which is an entry-level display.

LG’s large displays are divided into three grades and signified as ‘RPM’, R grade is 200 nits, P grade is 180 nits, and the M grade is 150-nits. We know that Samsung and LG are discussing these large displays since last year, but could not freeze the deal.

As we have discussed earlier that Samsung Electronics plans to launch in May this year, but to meet this target LG has to supply the OLED by the end of the first quarter, and it’s not yet happened.

Though there is a full possibility of the conclusion of these talks between Samsung Electronics and LG Display as the final settlement was delayed by LG Display. If this happens Samsung is surely going to earn some marginal profits on these low-end OLEDs while being at the No.1 Position in the TV market.
