Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is getting a new software update that mainly installs the January 2022 Android security patch for better system security. Currently, the update is released for Indian users, however, it will soon reach other region users.

Moreover, the January 2022 Android security patch brings fixes for a number of SVEs and CVEs from Samsung and Google, thus improving the device’s performance. You can identify this update via the One UI build version G781BXXS4DVA2, it weighs around 194GB.

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G:

Samsung Galaxy S20 FE comes with a 6.5-inch AMOLED 1080 x 2400 display, Snapdragon 865 5G chipset, 128GB of internal storage, and a 6GB microSD card Slot. It has three rear cameras (12MP wide, 8MP telephoto, and 12MP ultrawide), and has the same IP68 water/dust resistance rating as all of Samsung’s flagship phones.

The phone was shipped with Android 10 but was updated to Android 11. The company has released the Android 12 and One UI 4 for the Galaxy S20 FE recently. Since Samsung is committed to the “three generations” of Android OS updates for its flagships, the last major software upgrade to the Android 13 phone is possible for the device.

Even while extending the One UI 6.1 update to more devices, Samsung has not forgotten to release the monthly patch. The company initiated the May 2024 security patch rollout with the Galaxy S24 series and then released it for other devices, which you can see in the list below.

The Korean tech giant is regularly working to ensure that all compatible Galaxy devices will receive the latest security update soon. The May 2024 patch addresses 45 vulnerabilities including 33 identified by Google, with 3 Critical and 26 High-level CVEs. Additionally, there are 25 fixes specific to Samsung.

Throughout this month, Samsung plans to upgrade several eligible devices to the One UI 6.1 software. The update has been rolled out to the Galaxy Z Fold 4, Fold 4, Flip 3, Fold 3, Galaxy S22 series, S21 series, Galaxy A33, A54, A34, and A73 smartphones. More devices are expected to receive the update shortly.

Some devices will also be updated to One UI 6.1 along with the May 2024 security patch. Below is a list of Samsung devices that have already received the updates in May 2024.
