New WhatsApp beta for Android enables encrypted local storage backups
WhatsApp has released the latest end-to-end feature of Google Drive to protect user privacy from unauthorized access. Now, the latest info has revealed that the WhatsApp team is doing the same feature of local backups stored on Android.
To be mention this new feature “End-to-End Encrypted Backups” feature is currently under beta testing and could come as a stable update with upcoming versions of WhatsApp.

Depending on the details, this feature supports WhatsApp history in your Google Drive which can be restored to the internal storage of smartphones when the user reloads the app.

The end-to-end encryption allows users to set a security key containing numbers and capital letters from “a” to “f”. After entering this key, the user can access his backups from Google Drive. The only thing to keep in mind is that, if a user forgets security, WhatsApp will not be able to help him to reset it, which is required to retrieve chat history.
