WhatsApp beta for Android enables ‘End-To-End Encrypted Backups’ feature
WhatsApp brings an end-to-end encrypted feature for Android devices. This new update comes to beta testers and aims to protect users’ privacy while restoring chat history and media files.
WABetaInfo claims that enabling an end-to-end encrypted feature will allow your account history including messages and media to be protected from unauthorized access to Google Drive. It requires some authentication key to verify authenticity.
WhatsApp has just launched the beta version of Android 2.21.15.5, so it may take some time to access your device. However, iOS users are expected to wait some days, as the company is yet to release this iPhone feature.

Working Process:
Users must set a password that will be the security key for future backup encryption. Without keys, users cannot access their backups.
Key Notes:
There are points users should be aware of. First, the security key is only created using numbers and small letters from “a” to “f”. Additionally, users will not be able to access chat history without it.
In addition, since encryption passwords, users will only care about it, so it cannot be shared with WhatsApp, Facebook, Google Drive, or Apple. In case you lose your password, WhatsApp does not offer any way to reset it.
As always, WhatsApp rolling out this new beta update to select Android users, while a broader rollout is expected very soon. You can check for the latest WhatsApp Beta update through Google Play Store on your registered account.

WhatsApp introduces Grey Ring to keep status updates visible in chats tab
WhatsApp is bringing a Grey Ring for status updates via the latest beta update. This update is available for Android users with version 2.24.22.2 through the Google Play Beta Program.
The new feature allows users to view previously seen status updates directly from the chats tab. It makes it easier to revisit content without navigating back to the Status tab.
With this new beta update, WhatsApp is improving how users interact with status updates. In the past, when someone posted a new status, a ring appeared around their profile picture in the chats tab. This ring will disappear once you view the status.
Now, WhatsApp is making a change so that the ring remains visible, even after you have seen the status. However, the ring changes color and turns grey after the status is viewed.
This grey ring indicates that you can still tap on it to view the status again. This makes it convenient for users who want to revisit a status without having to go back to the Status tab.
Currently, this Grey Ring Status feature is available to some beta testers who have installed the latest WhatsApp beta update. The feature is gradually rolling out to beta users and WhatsApp plans to make it available to all users soon via future updates.
