While various OEMs are busy introducing smartphones in various categories, Samsung is covering every field of the industry by presenting smartphones, tablets, home appliances, smart TVs, smart home gadgets, storage devices, and much more. Following its habit, the company has recently announced the world’s highest-performing 24G SAS (SAS-4) SSD, the PM1653.

This new SSD PM1653 can support twice the speed of the previous 12G SAS-3 generation and based on the latest SAS interface. Moreover, it is the first 24G SAS SSD made with sixth-generation (1xx-layer) V-NAND chips that offers storage capacities from 800GB to 30.72TB for advanced enterprise server systems.

However, the readiness of the host bus adapter (HBA) system is required to build a strong 24G SAS ecosystem in the enterprise market. And Samsung is working with the major HBA supplier Broadcom to ensure a smooth and timely transition to this new SAS milestone.

Samsung has optimized the PM1653 SSD for high-performance enterprise servers. It deliveries the world’s highest random read speed of up to 800K IOPS. Besides, its sequential read speed can reach 4,300MB/s, which is 2x than the previous generation.

According to Samsung, it has begun sampling the PM1653 SSD with select customers and plans to begin mass production in the second half of this year.

Samsung Galaxy S23 May 2024 update Europe

Samsung matched Apple in smartphone customer satisfaction in America this year. The Americal Customer Satisfaction Index published its latest analysis. The report says Apple gained 1% in customer satisfaction, while Samsung gained 3%, tying the competition this year.

Samsung America achieved number 1 customer satisfaction among 5G mobile devices in the 2024 ACSI Survey. The Index is based on customer ratings of their own mobile devices and identifies the industry leaders they recognize for excellence in product and service quality.

“We’re proud that the ACSI results show how our customers recognize not only Samsung’s commitment to going above and beyond for them, but also the high quality of our mobile devices” said Mark Williams, Vice President of Customer Care at Samsung Electronics America.

Last year, Apple was the sole leader in the customer satisfaction index in America. Samsung’s share jumped by 3% this year, making it similar to Apple’s share of 82%. Both firms now stand on top, with keeping the same performance in the ASCI survey.

For the 2024 survey, ASCI randomly interviewed 12,414 consumers between April 2023 and March 2024. Besides Samsung, Motorola had the highest satisfaction increase. Google and Motorola tied for third with 77/100 with “All Others” earning an average score of 72.
