WhatsApp will soon let users share Instagram-like self-destructing media
Just recently, WhatsApp started rolling out a new update through Google Play Store to the Android beta testers. This version comes with a new image animation in the header of the disappearing messages section that defines the sense of this feature.
Now, it looks like the company is rapidly working to implement more new features in the popular messaging app. According to the latest information, WhatsApp has recently seeded a new update via Google Play Beta Program with a version number: 2.21.9.3.
Currently, this update is reaching a limited number of Android beta testers as it’s a pre-release version and its changes are still under development. Talking about revisions, the latest WhatsApp beta update brings a new feature called Self-Destructing Media.
The Facebook-owned company explains that the Self-Destructing Media feature helps users sending images and videos more privately by allowing them to view the shared file only one time and gets removed from the chat automatically from the recipients.
On the other hand, users can still take a screenshot of the received image to save it in the phone’s storage while it arrived through self-destructing media function. However, this feature is under development but WABetaInfo brought us a preview image that is attached below.

WhatsApp revamps Updates tab with new channel and status options
WhatsApp introduces a simpler way to create both status updates and channel posts from the same section in the app with a new beta update. The update is available with version 2.24.26.13 on the Google Play Beta Program.
The fresh beta update brings the redesigned “Updates” tab. WhatsApp now lets users create status updates and channel posts from the same place. There are new shortcuts that make it faster to upload photos and videos directly from your gallery as a status update.
In addition, you can create text-based status updates or record and share voice updates with just a few taps. The update also improves the floating action button, which now lets users do more with one click.
With the new button, you can create new status updates, start a new channel, or share photos, videos, and voice messages in existing channels. All these options are now in one place for easier to share content. This new design makes everything more accessible and reduces the number of steps needed to share content.
This feature is currently available to beta testers who have updated to WhatsApp version 2.24.26.13. WhatsApp plans to roll out this feature to more users in the coming days or weeks.

The new call dialer of WhatsApp not only simplifies the process but also cleans up the calls tab, making it less cluttered. Previously, WhatsApp introduced a floating action button for the call dialer.
The new update improves the interface by integrating the call dialer into the menu for a cleaner and more organized experience.

WhatsApp to add new message translation feature soon
WhatsApp is testing a new feature with the latest beta update version 2.24.26.9, which will allow users to translate chat messages and channel updates. This feature is currently under development and will be available for beta users soon.
The new translation feature will let users automatically translate all incoming messages or choose to translate specific messages individually. This will help users better understand messages written in different languages to make it easier to communicate with people from around the world.
Notably, the message translations will happen directly on your device, without sending any data to third-party services. This means WhatsApp can maintain its end-to-end encryption to ensure privacy.
The translation feature will also work offline. For that, users can download language packs in advance to allow them to translate messages even when they don’t have an internet connection.
Through this feature, WhatsApp plans to make the translation process quick and simple. But you can’t use WhatsApp fucntions without the internet like sending or receiving messages, watching status, and more. Still, you will soon be able to translate received messages offline.
However, keep in mind that the translations might not always be perfect, as they will be processed offline and may have occasional errors. Stay tuned for more updates.
