T-Mobile updates Samsung Galaxy Note 20 with eSIM support, March 2021 security patch
Launched back in August 2020, the Galaxy Note 20 is the latest Note flagship offering from Samsung. This lineup was shipped with Android 10-based One UI 2.5 out of the box and now waiting to get the upcoming One UI 3.5 update as these phones have already received the One UI 3.1 update based on Android 11.
However, the Galaxy Note 20 series has recently joined the party with April 2021 security patch. And now, as per the latest information, Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra users have started getting a new firmware update in who have purchased one of these phones from T-Mobile carrier in the US.
The Note 20 series smartphone users can identify this release via build versions: N981USQU2DUC8 and N986USQU2DUC8 for the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra respectively. The carrier will distribute this update in various phases to prevent download issues, plus there’s also a daily limit on downloads.
According to the update log, this new firmware for the Galaxy Note 20 lineup brings eSIM support alongside the March 2021 security patch, which brings system security enhancements. The eSIM functionality allows you to activate a mobile network plan without the use of a nano-SIM.

Samsung has pushed a new update for the Galaxy S24 FE smartphone, which installs the latest Android security patch released in December 2024 to improve system security. This update is rolling out in Korea and the company will soon make it available in more countries.

Google fixes 6 critical vulnerabilities and 28 high-level ones. There is also 1 issue that was previously fixed in earlier updates and another that is not applicable to Samsung devices.
Samsung has also addressed 2 high-level vulnerabilities in its semiconductor products. Along with these fixes, Samsung has also provided 8 patches under its Samsung Vulnerabilities and Exposures (SVE) items. These focus on issues with the Theme Center, Galaxy Watch Bluetooth, SmartSwitch, and Dex Mode.
To install the update, you just need to follow a few easy steps. Open Settings, tap on Software Updates, and click on Download and Install.
