Here’s how to adjust height of navigation bar of your Samsung device
Yes! Samsung now allows you to adjust the height of the navigation bar on Galaxy devices. Earlier, the company only provides you options to change the icons, layout, and background color of the navigation buttons, now the company has added another new option.
To customize the navigation bar of your Galaxy smartphone, Samsung offers a Good Lock module named NavStar. Through a new update, the company brings an option for adjusting the height of the Navigation Bar. Here you can see how you can customize the size of the Navigation bar.
It is worth mentioning that you can only customize the size of the navigation bar if you are using the button navigation option.
How to adjust the height of the Navigation bar?
You can easily adjust the height of the navigation bar on your Samsung device to get a wider screen experience.
- Visit the Good Lock app on your Galaxy smartphone.
- Open the NavStar module under the Make up category.
- Tap on the Buttons option located in the bottom left.
- Now, tap on the toggle to turn on the functions of NavStar.
- Scroll down and you can see the ‘Customize navigation bar height‘ option.
- From here you can adjust the height of the navigation bar in 3 levels
Important Notes:
1.) Good Lock app is available on limited Galaxy devices.
2.) Your Galaxy device must be updated on Android 13 based One UI 5.0 or One UI 5.1.
3.) Make sure to update your Samsung NavStar app to version 5.1.03.32 or a higher version.
4.) If you mainly use gestures then to use NavStar button settings, you need to change the navigation bar to a button type.
For that, open Settings >> Display >> Navigation Bar >>Buttons.

One UI 6.1 update will address NavStar button issue of Samsung devices
Samsung has acknowledged a persistent issue reported by Galaxy users involving the NavStar Good Lock module and the taskbar. This issue causes the keyboard’s back button position to change randomly. This issue is bothering users as the back button’s unexpected movement often leads to accidental exits to the home screen while typing.
In response to these reports, Samsung has apologized for the inconvenience experienced by users and promised to resolve it in the upcoming software update.
According to the community moderator, the upcoming One UI 6.1 update will fix the NavStar button issue on Galaxy devices. Users have been advised to keep their devices updated to the latest software to get the fix once it is released.
If you are also facing NavStar issues on your Galaxy devices, the One UI 6.1 update will resolve them. Notably, the One UI 6.1 update will enhance the overall user experience by bringing new enhancements and features over the previous UI.

How to use the Motion Photo feature?
- Launch the Camera app
- Enable the Motion Photo feature by tapping on its icon.
- Click the shutter button as usual to take a photo
- Visit the Gallery and select your photo that has been successfully taken.
- Tap ‘View Motion Photo’ to explore the frames.
- Choose the best image in Motion Photo and apply ‘Quick Crop’.

One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy S21 series, Z Flip 3, and Fold 3 to release next week
Samsung is reportedly preparing to release One UI 6.1 update to the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 3. The update began rolling out to nine Galaxy devices in late March and will soon be available to other older devices.
A Canadian network carrier, Fido has recently updated its update schedule for some Galaxy devices. A new software update will be available for the Galaxy S21 series, Galaxy Z Flip 3, and Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphones on May 3 in Canada. This update will include the April 2024 security patch and is expected to release much-awaited One UI 6.1 features.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series, Galaxy Z Flip 4, and Galaxy Z Flip 4 smartphones will also get a new software update on May 03 in Canada. While Samsung announced the release of the One UI 6.1 update for the above models in early May the company has not yet confirmed whether the Galaxy S21 series, Z Flip 3, and Fold 3 will be included in this update.
Users of these devices may need to wait for further announcements to know if they will receive the new features and enhancements that One UI 6.1 offers on May 3, 2024.
One UI 6.1 update to introduce some advanced AI features to these devices including Circle to Search and Live translation. Owners of the Galaxy S21 series, Z Flip 3, and Fold 3 should look forward to these enhancements, which will bring their devices up to date with the latest Samsung technology.
