Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Astrophoto Camera Feature

The latest Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, equipped with Expert RAW app made night sky photography an accessible experience for people who don’t have a professional camera. Using the Samsung Camera app’s Astrophoto feature, Galaxy users can capture stunning photos of Stars and sky at night time.
Samsung Camera Astrophoto makes it possible to capture long exposure images by processing multiple frames, which in turn take into account the movements of celestial objects. Impressively, the Astrophoto mode also shows the position of constellations and other celestial bodies on the smartphone screen.
In addition to Astrophoto, the Expert RAW app brings more advanced features such as setting focus, exposure, ISO, white balance, and shutter speed. It stores images in RAW format which, unlike traditional photos compressed in JPEG, allows serious refinement when editing.
How to capture stars
Directly from the camera app, select the Expert RAW option by tapping “More.” Once done, stabilize your Galaxy S23 Ultra on a tripod so it does not move while capturing the image. In the upper right corner, there is a constellation icon, simply, tap it to active Astrophoto.
Once enabled, “Sky Guide” will appear on camera viewfinder so you can easily select a specific constellation. You can also configure the time of exposure to the light of the record. If you don’t want to capture certain constellations, you are recommended to disable Sky Guide by tapping the “Hide” button.
Weather conditions greatly interfere with the visibility of the stars. Thus, the result will depend a lot on the location where the captures will be made and the clouds in the sky at the time of the photo. However, make sure, the darker the surrounding environment, the longer the exposure time should be.
