Foldable Apple iPhone to challenge Samsung’s reign in 2026

Another report says Apple will begin mass production of its first foldable iPhone in late 2026. It indicates that the company is preparing to introduce the foldable iPhone by 2026. Meanwhile, Samsung is preparing to launch the sixth-generation foldable products in July this year.

Despite facing challenges in China, Samsung is leading the global foldable market. Meanwhile, Apple’s entry into the foldable market would hurt Samsung the most. The competition is getting fierce and its peak could be seen when the first foldable iPhone lands in the market.

9to5Mac reports that Apple is set to commence mass production of a foldable iPhone in late 2026. The report also states that the company will likely begin mass production of a 20.3-inch foldable device later next year. Previously, this device is slated to launch in 2026 or 2027.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously revealed that the company could launch a 20.3-inch MacBook with a foldable display in 2027. Display supply chain insider Ross Young also highlighted Apple’s development of a 20-inch foldable hybrid device, set for a 2026 or 2027 release.

Trusted source Mark Gurman also said that Apple is “exploring a dual-screen, foldable MacBook/iPad hybrid.” However, the latest report suggests that Apple has “accelerated” its work on foldable devices, with the supply chain showing “increasing visibility.”

It is to be added that foldable devices would introduce a “new line-up for Apple” focused on the “ultra-high-end market.” Apart from a 20.3-inch “foldable device,” the company is exploring 7.9-inches and 8.3-inches screen sizes for a foldable iPhone.

New Apple iPhone 17 Slim to take on Samsung’s S25 Plus

Apple iPhone 16 Galaxy S24 thin-bezel

Apple iPhone 17 Plus could be ditched in favor of a new iPhone 17 Slim variant. Rumored details indicate that the company has significant plans for its next-generation iPhone lineup. Front camera improvements and minimized Dynamic Island are also rumored.

Analyst Jeff Pu of Haitong International Securities (via 9to5Mac) revealed that the Apple iPhone 17 Slim may sport a 6.6-inch display. Besides this, the iPhone 17 series is said to introduce a refreshed design, front-facing camera improvements, a smaller Dynamic Island, and more.

Apple’s iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Slim and iPhone 17 Pro would use an Aluminum frame. The company would ship the iPhone 17 Pro Max with a durable frame of Titanium material. In particular, the Dynamic Island would go smaller on the most premium variant of the lineup.

A major RAM boost is also in stores with rumors citing 8GB RAM in iPhone 17 and iPhone 17 Slim. The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max could get 12GB RAM, featuring an advanced A19 Pro chipset. Standard and Slim models might feature an A18 or A19 processor.

It has been analyzed that the sales of the Plus iPhone model are not up to the mark, compared to others. At the same time, Samsung made major improvements in the middle child of the Galaxy S24 series, which also increased the device’s sales in various parts of the world.

Apple AI

CEO Tim Cook discussed Apple’s work on artificial intelligence during a recent earnings call. The company hasn’t revealed core details about its lead in the AI segment. However, Cook teased exciting things will be introduced in the future, which is expected at WWDC next month.

Samsung may not debut Exynos 2400+ with Galaxy S24 FE: Tipster

Published

Samsung Galaxy S24

Rumor spreading that Samsung may debut an Exynos 2400+ chip with Galaxy S24 FE is fake. Tipster OreXDA claims that Samsung won’t bring any mid-cycle iteration of its Exynos chipset, however, improvements to power efficiency and yield are likely.

Reports surfaced claiming Samsung could bring Exynos 2400+ chip to the Galaxy S24 FE. As we didn’t see much happening in the past, the segment would continue as it has so far. Hence, no Plus, Pro, or Ultra iteration of Exynos would launch this year.

The rumor claimed that Exynos 2400+ may bring up to 10% power efficiency and yield boost. The tipster noted that the chipset may be marketed with Plus branding for promotional purposes. However, it would hurt Samsung’s chip distribution strategy.

If this happens, Galaxy S24 and S24 Plus users would think robbed. We’ve seen such happening with the Galaxy S22 and S23 FE flagships. While the former debuted the Exynos 2200 chip, the latter was equipped with its enhanced variant paired with a larger cooling chamber.

Samsung won’t fade its reputation just for silly marketing purposes. The Exynos 2400 is a tough competitor to its Qualcomm counterpart, which we haven’t seen in previous generations. Samsung’s enhanced process and yield would benefit it before the S24 FE arrival.

Exynos 2400 used in S24 and S24 Plus features a 10-core architecture. It’s fabricated on Samsung’s 4-nanometer process technology and has 1 core Cortex-X4 at 3210 MHz, 2 cores Cortex-A720 at 2900 MHz, 3 cores Cortex-A720 at 2600 MHz, and 4 cores Cortex-A520 at 1950 MHz.
