Samsung Texas chip plant employees may face trouble finding shelter in future

Published

In November 2021, Samsung Electronics announced the building of a new semiconductor manufacturing facility in Taylor, Texas. An estimated $17 billion investment in the United States will boost the production of advanced logic semiconductor solutions that will enable the next generation of innovations and technologies.

Samsung’s US presence is expected to directly create more than 2,000 high-tech jobs and thousands of related jobs when the new facility is fully operational.

As part of a co-investment in the community, Samsung Taylor will provide financial assistance to build the Samsung Skills Center for Independent School Districts (ISDs), helping students develop skills for future careers to help provide internships and recruitment opportunities.

But in the future, Samsung employees may run into trouble in finding their homes if anyone wants to move to Taylor, Texas in the next couple of years.

According to Redfin (via), home prices at Taylor are up 40% from last year, but that’s not what keeps people from buying. As Samsung employees are thinking about where to live in the future, inventory plays a major role in their decision-making.

Steinberg Hart recently won a $25 million, 150 unit, the multi-family project called Castlewood in Taylor. It is located along FM 973, less than a mile from the former intersection of the Samsung CR401 and CR404.

Moss said the project is much needed by anyone who wants to enter the field and work effectively for the tech giant. A decrease in inventory value increases higher real estate prices.

She bought their home in Taylor‌ with her husband in 2019, and they are now three years later grateful for this decision. At Redfin, its value increased by almost $200,000. He bought his house for about$ 369,000. Four years later, it is now priced at $ 553,000 on Redfin.

Pittman understands that inventory is low and that this house will soon be worth more than it is now, but with all the changes that are coming, she hopes she will learn and love this small town. Does not change things.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra to skip stacked battery, 65W charging

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra may not feature a stacked battery and 65W charging. Last April, it was reported that the company is developing advanced battery tech inspired by EVs for its mobile portfolio. However, the plan to bring it to Galaxy reportedly pushed to Galaxy S26 Ultra.

According to a rumor, Samsung canceled bringing stacked battery tech and 65W charging to Galaxy S25 Ultra. Now, it is planned for Galaxy S26 Ultra, which will arrive in 2026. The next Ultra flagship would continue 5000mAh conventional battery and 45W charging support.

Stacked battery tech would mean offering a higher energy density with a different arrangement of the cells. It will unlock even longer battery life for the Galaxy flagships. Meanwhile, Samsung fans won’t see advanced batteries in the flagship arriving next year.

The tipster mentioned that Samsung is skipping the new battery and faster charging in the S25 Ultra to reduce the cost. We’ve seen Chinese manufacturers bringing over 5000mAh battery to their recent flagships, however, Samsung still offers longer battery life.

As Snapdragon going more expensive this year, the South Korean tech giant considering expanding its Exynos to more Galaxies. The Galaxy S25 Ultra may use Snapdragon internationally could also be the reason behind the delay in stacked battery tech.
