Samsung has pushed the first One UI 9 beta update for the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Ultra, and Galaxy S25 FE. It comes with some new features and improvements to make the phones easier to use.

One UI 9 Beta 1 adds one new Galaxy AI feature, Pay Now, for Now Brief. Samsung has also made the Quick Panel more flexible, improved Samsung DeX, and added new tools to Samsung Notes. The update also improves privacy by showing a blue indicator when an app uses the phone’s location. Several new accessibility features have been added to help users read, control, and use their Galaxy phones more easily.

More customizable quick panel

You can now rearrange and customize the controls in your quick panel even more than before. You can change the size of the brightness and volume sliders as well as the media player. You can also separate the sound mode button from the volume slider.

Samsung DeX enhancements

It’s easier to move an app window from one desktop to another using the menu at the top of the window. Desktop previews are now available at the top of the Recents screen, making it easier to switch with a single tap.

Do more with notes

The new Tape feature in Samsung Notes lets you cover parts of your note with tape and reveal them when needed. A variety of new pen styles have also been added, giving you even more options for writing and drawing.

Location access transparency

Stay on top of your location privacy. A blue indicator will appear at the top of the screen when an app accesses your location. Tap the indicator in the quick panel to see which app it is.

Discover new Accessibility features

Check the What’s new menu in Accessibility settings to learn about and try the latest Accessibility features for your Galaxy.

Text spotlight for easier reading

Need a closer look? Tap any text on the screen to show it enlarged and highlighted in its own window. You can also customize the font size, colors, and other settings to match your preferences.

Physical keyboard shortcuts

Use shortcuts on your physical keyboard to access the Accessibility settings you need without touching the screen.

Mouse keys enhancements

New options are available when using your keyboard for mouse interactions including speed and acceleration control. You can also use the keyboard’s number pad to point and click.

Replace swipe with single tap

The Replace swipe with single tap option is now located on the Dexterity and interaction menu instead of the Assistant menu for easier access.

Select to speak

Get quick audio readouts without turning on full TalkBack. With the new Select to speak feature, you can select an item on your screen, like text or an image, and hear it read or described out loud.

Samsung is getting ready to release the stable One UI 9.0 update for more Galaxy devices. The company has already debuted the stable update with its latest Galaxy foldable phones. The company is currently testing One UI 9.0 beta updates on other Galaxy devices.

A recent comment from a Samsung Community moderator has given users more hope about the upcoming update. The moderator confirmed that the stable One UI 9.0 update will be released soon.

In the Samsung Community, the moderator said, “We would like to inform you that a stable update for UI 9.0 will be released soon.” The moderator also asked users to stay active on the Samsung Members app. Users will receive a notification through the app when the update becomes available for their device.

Samsung has not shared an exact release date yet. The rollout is expected to happen in stages, so all eligible devices may not get One UI 9.0 at the same time.

The company is currently testing beta versions of One UI 9.0 on some devices. These tests help the company find and fix problems before releasing the stable version to more users. Samsung has just started the Android 17-based One UI 9.0 Beta Program for the Galaxy S25 series, including the Galaxy S25 FE, letting users of the flagship devices join the early access activity and download the Beta 1 build today.

The company introduced the full One UI 9.0 experience at its July 22 Unpacked event. The official rollout started on August 7. Samsung’s newest foldables, the Flip 8, Fold 8, and Fold 8 Ultra, ship with One UI 9.0.

Full Galaxy S25 range gets One UI 9.0 early

Samsung is giving Galaxy S25 users early access to One UI 9.0 through the Beta Program. The public rollout will take some time, but you can grab the software early. You may have to deal with glitches, UI errors, battery drain, and overheating.

One UI 9.0 Beta was initially released in May 2026 for the Galaxy S26 series. The Program is still running, with users waiting to receive the fifth Beta update this month.

Galaxy S25’s ZZHL Beta is available in India, while S25 FE’s is in Korea. Samsung is expanding the availability to even more markets, as the Galaxy S26’s Beta is live in six countries: Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, the UK, and the US.

How to join and download Beta update

Open Samsung Members app > Notices > One UI Beta Program banner. Now, follow the on-screen instructions that include your consent to the terms and conditions. Once done, hit Enroll to confirm your interest in the Beta Program.

Now, head back to the home screen and open system Settings. Head over to the Software update page and press Download and install to initiate the final process.

Before installing Beta firmware, it is highly advised to back up your device data. Ensure your phone’s battery is above 50 percent for an uninterrupted experience.

Samsung just dropped the One UI 9 Beta 8 Hotfix update for Galaxy S26 Ultra. Users in South Korea are receiving the latest update. The notice in Samsung Members mentions the 8th Beta and Hotfix, but the incorrect model.

Galaxy S25 series has just joined the One UI 9 Beta Program. Users are receiving the first Beta update, which ends with ZZHL. That said, One UI 9 Beta 8 Hotfix is indeed arriving on the Galaxy S26 Ultra as users are posting update screenshots.

Samsung pushed the ZZHM update for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. This came quickly after Beta 7, which included a plethora of new features. It seems Samsung is now pushing improvements for the reddish tint issue on the screen.

The changelog mentions stability improvements for the device. The security patch level remains unchanged at August 5, 2026. However, the size of this OTA update is over 500 megabytes, hinting at crucial improvements.

Additionally, Samsung moderators have also begun teasing the stable update. In a recent development, a Korean community moderator revealed that the official version is coming soon, giving users good news.

At present, the update seems limited to South Korea. If you’ve also enrolled in the Beta Program, check if it is available on your device. Open Settings > Software update > Download and install to verify the availability.

Samsung may soon bring its useful Scam Detection feature to more Galaxy phones. New information found in the One UI 9 Beta 7 software suggests that the feature could arrive on the upcoming Galaxy S27 series as well as some older Samsung phones.

Scam Detection was first introduced by Google as a feature for Pixel phones. It was first available on the Pixel 9 series. Later, Google started bringing the feature to Samsung phones. The Galaxy S26 series already supports Scam Detection, and newer Galaxy Z8 foldable phones can also use the feature through Samsung’s Phone app.

Now, code found in the latest One UI 9 beta suggests that Samsung and Google may expand the feature even further.

The Galaxy S25 series could get Scam Detection. This includes the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Galaxy S25 Ultra. Samsung’s newer foldable phones may also receive the feature, including the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and Galaxy Z TriFold.

The Galaxy S27 series is also mentioned in the software code. The model numbers SM-S952, SM-S956, SM-S957, and SM-S958 are believed to be linked to the Galaxy S27, S27 Plus, S27 Pro, and S27 Ultra.

The code also gives us some information about the Galaxy S27 processors. It mentions “s5e9975,” which is expected to be Samsung’s Exynos 2700 chip. Qualcomm is also mentioned. This suggests Samsung may continue using both Exynos and Qualcomm chips in the Galaxy S27 series, depending on the country.

However, this information does not confirm that all these phones will definitely get Scam Detection. Samsung and Google could still change their plans. The Galaxy S27 series is still months away, so we may have to wait for more information before Samsung officially confirms the feature.
