Samsung Galaxy AI Languages

Samsung released the Canadian French language to Galaxy AI in Canada. Smartphones powered by Galaxy AI can download the latest language pack to fuel features like Live Translate, Interpreter, Chat Assist, Note Assist,  Transcript Assist, and Browsing Assist.

Canadian French speakers can now take advantage of the new Galaxy AI features in new formats eliminating communication barriers. The company has officially announced the inclusion of Canadian French to its list of languages Galaxy AI now supports.

Earlier this month, the South Korean tech giant announced three new languages for Galaxy AI. Apart from Canadian French, the company said to offer Australian English and Cantonese. Now, the Canadian French is up for grabs by users of Galaxy S23, S22 and more.

“With continued interest in prioritizing accessibility for Canadians, the introduction of Canadian French to Galaxy AI’s range of languages will break down language barriers for Canadian Galaxy users,” said Raj Doshi, Head of Mobile Business, Samsung Canada. “As leaders in mobile AI innovation, this effort is enabling Canadian Galaxy users to communicate on a scale unique to Samsung.”

Aligning with the recently launched S24, Galaxy AI is now available across more devices including the Galaxy S23 Series, S23 FE, Z Fold 5, and Z Flip 5. Some Galaxy AI features are also now available on the Tab S9 Series and the Galaxy Buds.

Users can take advantage of the following Galaxy AI innovations:

Live Translate produces two-way, real-time voice and text translations of phone calls, making it easy for users to book reservations while traveling or chat with their grandparents in their native language.

Interpreter can instantly translate live conversations through a user-friendly split-screen view, allowing people standing opposite each other to read a text translation of what the other person is saying.

Chat Assist can help perfect conversational tones by generating context-aware suggestions to enable communications to sound as they were intended, whether it’s a polite message to a coworker or a short catchy phrase for a social media caption.

Note Assist can create AI-generated summaries, pre-formatted templates, and cover pages, elevating your day-to-day productivity.

Transcript Assist uses AI and Speech-to-Text technology to transcribe, summarize, and even translate voice recordings.

Browsing Assist helps you stay up to speed on what’s happening in the world while saving time by generating concise summaries of news articles or web pages.

Samsung Google TM Roh Rick Osterloh

Top Samsung and Google officials recently discussed AI collaboration, report KoreaHerald. Samsung’s TM Roh and Google’s Rick Osterloh met in Seoul on Thursday and talked about ways to strengthen their partnership on artificial intelligence.

Confirming their meeting in South Korea, Google’s Rick posted a picture on X taken with Samsung’s Mobile Business Head. Amid the booming AI Phone era, both companies are expected to bring breakthrough technologies in the coming years.

Had a terrific conversation with TM and @SamsungMobile leadership. Our partnership has never been stronger. I’m thrilled about our collaboration on AI and the many opportunities ahead for both companies. – Rick Osterloh.

Pay attention, Samsung and Google have been close partners since the debut of the first Galaxy S flagship with Android. The world has seen many instances, reiterating the collaboration between both firms and hardware and software segments.

With the Galaxy S24 launch, Samsung showed off its AI collab with Google, debuting Circle to Search. As far as the recent meeting is concerned, it was all about artificial intelligence, however, the topic of the two chiefs’ gathering is unknown.

The meeting becomes more important as Google has recently appointed Rick as Senior Vice President of the Platforms and Devices team. There were rumors that Gemini Nano v2 will be introduced with the S25 series with some Pixel and Galaxy exclusive features.

“Our collaboration with @Google continues as we work towards a shared vision of delivering the best Android ecosystem of products and services. Exciting things are coming up for the future of AI-powered Android and Galaxy experiences.” – Samsung Mobile / X.

One UI 6.1.1-based Galaxy AI to bring Video AI features: Source

Galaxy S24 Camera firmware June

Samsung’s software team has reportedly begun One UI 6.1.1 development. The same source revealed that the Galaxy AI in One UI 6.1.1 will debut the “Video AI” feature. Besides the feature’s name, the leakster hasn’t detailed its functionality.

For the next set of flagships, Google and Samsung are working on Gemini Nano v2. The upgrade will be introduced with the Pixel 9 series later this year, and the Galaxy S25 series early next year. Meanwhile, Samsung’s custom skin is said to bring some new AI features in July this year.

Galaxy AI’s Generative Edit feature is awesome, but works with photos only. Instant Slow-mo is also exciting but it just ends the need for editing by an external app. However, Video AI integration might mean to text to video generation or real-time generative editing.

The Generative AI capabilities available for photos might expand to videos. While these are just our own assumptions, Samsung might also bring AI-powered video shooting features. It would excellently enhance the camera functionality of the phones.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 on July 10 in Paris. This timeframe aligns right before the Olympics 2024 kickstart in Paris, France. The Z Fold 6 Ultra is also said to be in the works with a Korea launch exclusivity rumor.
