Apple ReALM Siri

Google and Samsung succeeded in deploying AI into their mobile products. While both phone makers gained a lead in the market, Apple ReALM is also racing to close the gap in AI products such as iPhones and Macbooks.

Apple researchers announced a new AI model called ReALM (via VentureBeat). The company aims to improve Siri’s understanding of user commands by utilizing its new AI model.

ReALM by Apple works by converting all context; voice commands, and visual information on the screen, into text. These capabilities will be fueled by Apple’s voice assistant Siri, making it even more dynamic and useful.

Apple’s AI mode brings three key advantages, which will foster AI in Siri. ReALM is faster and more efficient, smaller and more efficient for on-device use, and offers improved accuracy.

Recently, it was reported that Apple is in talks with Google to use Gemini Nano in iPhones. After Google AI benefited Pixel, Galaxy AI also brought rising success to Samsung’s S24 flagships, putting pressure on Apple.

Samsung Knox Vault Galaxy AI

Samsung Galaxy phones are getting smarter, thanks to the advanced features of the Galaxy AI. It is like a personal assistant in your pocket, which is designed to make your phone smarter and more helpful. For privacy and protection, Galaxy AI works with Samsung Knox Vault to keep your personal data safe.

As phones get smarter, they also collect more personal data. That’s why privacy is more important than ever. Samsung has built strong protection into every Galaxy device, starting with Samsung Knox Vault.

The Knox Vault is a super-secure safe inside your phone. It’s built into the hardware, not just software, so it can’t easily be broken into. It stores and protects your most sensitive information, like your passwords, PINs, fingerprints, and banking details. Even if someone tries to hack your phone, this data stays locked away and safe.

The best thing is you don’t have to set it up. Knox Vault is always working in the background to keep your info protected without you even noticing.

Samsung also gives you control over how your AI data is used. Some of it stays right on your phone, while other parts can be processed in the cloud with your permission. Also, Samsung Knox Matrix helps protect all your connected Galaxy devices.

As AI becomes an integral part of our everyday lives, it’s natural to worry about privacy. But with Galaxy AI and Samsung Knox Vault, you get the best as a phone that’s both smart enough to help you and secure enough to protect you.

Google Search Live Mode

Google has introduced a new feature, Search Live, in the Google app for Android and iOS. This feature lets you talk to Google Search like a conversation. It’s now available to more users in the US as part of Google’s AI Mode experiment in Labs.

With Search Live, you can ask Google questions by speaking out loud and get instant voice replies from its AI. It feels more like having a conversation than doing a regular search.

For example, you can say, “What’s a good phone under $500?” and the AI will give you a clear and helpful answer. You can also ask follow-up questions like “Does it have a good camera?” or “Where can I buy it near me?, without starting over, just keep chatting.

To try it, you just need to open the Google app and tap the new “Live” icon. Once you start talking, the AI responds with spoken answers and also shows links to useful websites so you can learn more if you’d like.

This feature is powered by a special version of Google’s Gemini AI. It’s designed to understand your questions and give helpful answers. Google also uses a technique called “query fan-out,” which means it searches many sources to give you a wide range of useful info.

In Search Live, you don’t lose your place if you switch apps. You can come back later, view a transcript of the conversation, and continue where you left off.

Right now, it doesn’t include the camera feature Google showed at I/O, where you can ask questions about things you’re pointing your camera at. But that’s coming soon. Stay tuned for more information.

Google Gemini running on a Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone

Google is bringing new updates to its Gemini AI assistant that will make it more useful and interactive. Two of the main features coming soon are in-app video recording support and a smarter Gemini Live overlay. These changes will help users get more out of Gemini on their phones.

Video Recording and Uploading

With version 16.23.69 of the Google app, users can now upload videos for Gemini to analyze. Previously, video analysis was limited to YouTube links, but this update introduces native support for uploading clips from device storage, significantly improving usability for casual users.

To check if the feature is available, tap the + button in Gemini, select Files or Gallery, and see if video files are available. If not, the update may not have reached your device yet.

A reliable tipster @AssembleDebug spotted that Google is also working on adding the ability to record videos directly inside the app. It will make it even easier to share what you need help with.

Improved Gemini Live Overlay

Gemini Live feature is also getting a new look. The overlay will now have a smaller, cleaner design, with the Google wordmark replaced by a simple “G” logo, a repositioned Labs button, and a more fluid interaction model.

It will also show a voice waveform to let you know when it’s listening, even when the overlay is minimized. Google is testing new ways to suggest AI-powered searches, which clearly mark “AI Mode” for transparency.

Gemini advanced yearly plan

OnePlus has surprised everyone by being the first to get a new Gemini AI feature, even before Samsung and Google’s own Pixel phones. The new OnePlus 13s smartphone comes with a special Gemini shortcut on the lockscreen, which is not yet available on Samsung’s latest Galaxy phones or Pixel devices.

Samsung recently replaced Bixby with Gemini as its default assistant in One UI 7. Usually, Samsung phones get new Google AI features early. But this time, OnePlus has taken the lead.

On Galaxy phones, you can set Gemini as a lockscreen shortcut, but it asks for your fingerprint or face unlock when you tap it. But on the OnePlus 13s, you can open Gemini directly from the lockscreen without needing to unlock the phone. You just need to set the ‘Digital Assistant from Google’ as a shortcut on lockscreen.

Google might add this feature to Pixel phones with the final Android 16 update. But for now, even the beta versions don’t have it. Samsung’s One UI 8 beta also doesn’t include it yet. It is expected that it will soon arrive on Samsung devices too in future updates.

Besides this smart AI shortcut, the OnePlus 13s comes with powerful features. It has a 6.32-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, a large 5,850mAh battery, and 80W fast charging. It runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and features a 50MP main camera. The phone is priced at ₹54,999 (around $641), making it a strong competitor to the Samsung Galaxy S24.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra S Pen

Samsung Galaxy phones may soon get a new AI assistant, and it could be a big change for users. According to a new report, Samsung is in talks with a fast-growing AI company called Perplexity. If the deal is confirmed, Perplexity AI could come to Samsung devices, giving strong competition to Google’s Gemini AI.

Perplexity is an AI assistant that many people say is faster and gives amazing results. Some even feel it works more smoothly and feels smarter. Perplexity has already teamed up with Motorola, and now Samsung might be next.

Samsung’s plan is to bring a Perplexity app to Galaxy smartphones and other devices. It could first appear later this year, possibly with the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 phones. By next year, Samsung may even offer Perplexity as a default assistant option on the Galaxy S26 series.

Right now, Samsung works closely with Google. Gemini powers many AI features on Galaxy phones, like Circle to Search and smart tools. Samsung even lets users launch Gemini with the side button on the Galaxy S25 series and other One UI 7-based devices. But now, Samsung seems ready to offer more choices.

Perplexity Samsung

Samsung has already invested in Perplexity through its investment arm, Samsung NEXT, last year. So this move has been in the works for some time. If the deal is finalized, Samsung users might get Perplexity as a pre-installed app or be able to choose it during phone setup.

Through this, Samsung aims to give users more control over which AI assistant they want to use. With Perplexity possibly joining the Galaxy lineup, users could soon have a strong alternative to Gemini AI. Stay tuned with us for more information.
