New Fitbit app feature lets you track your body temperature

Published

Google Wear OS 5.1

Fitbit has released a new update for its app on Android that adds the ability to log your body temperature manually from your own thermometer. Identified via version 4.06, the update is rolling out widely to Android users.

The fresh update brings a new “Temperature” option in the floating action button, along with Activity, Sleep, Food, Water, and Weight. It also adds a “Body temperature” card under the “Health” section in the Today feed, which shows your temperature stats on a redesigned page.

This feature is not entirely new, as some Fitbit devices that measure skin temperature variation already allow you to manually enter your temperature. However, this is the first time that the feature is available in the redesigned Fitbit app.

The update comes ahead of the Pixel 8 Pro’s temperature sensor getting regulatory approval to measure body temperature. Once that happens, you will be able to take a reading from the app and sync it to the Fitbit app automatically.

WhatsApp may soon let you choose who can see your phone number

WhatsApp

WhatsApp is working on a new privacy feature that will give users more control over who can see their phone numbers when they use usernames. The feature is currently under development for Android and was spotted in WhatsApp beta version 2.26.45.1.

Recently, WhatsApp added a username field to the contact creation screen. This allows users to save someone’s username along with their name and phone number.

When a user sets up a username, people who do not have their phone number saved in their contacts cannot see it. This helps users connect with others without sharing their phone numbers. Now, WhatsApp is planning to add a new option to its privacy settings. This will allow users to choose who can see their phone numbers.

According to the latest information, there will be four options: Everyone, My contacts, My contacts except, and Nobody. Users can choose to show their number to everyone, only their contacts, selected people, or hide it from people who do not already know it.

By default, WhatsApp will select the Nobody option for users who have a username. This means their phone numbers will remain hidden from new people who contact them through their usernames.

WhatsApp will also show a warning when users change this setting. The warning will explain that changing the option will reset their previous exceptions list. As a result, some people may be able to see their phone numbers after the change.

The new feature is still under development and is not available to users yet. WhatsApp has not announced when it will be released. It is expected to arrive in a future Android update.

Samsung to fix One UI 9.0 lock screen clock bug with November AOD update

Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra SG26U

Samsung users facing a lock screen clock bug in One UI 9.0 may finally get some good news. A Samsung Community Moderator has shared an update about the issue and confirmed that improvements are planned for November through an Always On Display app update.

Some users are facing a problem when applying a ClockFace clock to their lock screen in One UI 9.0. After applying the clock style, its position changes automatically instead of staying in the selected position.

This makes it difficult for users to customise their lock screens as they want. Several users have reported this problem and are waiting for Samsung to provide a proper fix. Users are now asking Samsung when the problem will finally be solved.

Responding to the complaints, a Samsung Community Moderator has shared some good news. The issue where the clock position changes after applying a ClockFace clock to the lock screen is scheduled to be improved through an AOD app update in November.

The moderator also advised users to update their devices to the latest software to make sure the improvements are available.

However, Samsung has not provided an exact release date for the update. The moderator also clarified that the software release schedule may change depending on different circumstances. This means users may have to wait until the update becomes available.

For now, affected users should keep their AOD app and device software updated. Hopefully, the November update will finally solve this annoying One UI 9.0 lock screen clock issue.

Samsung explains missing media volume icon in One UI 9.0

Samsung Good Lock apps

Samsung Galaxy users are reporting an issue after installing the One UI 9.0 update. The media icon does not appear when they press the volume buttons to adjust the sound. This issue has been noticed on devices like the Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy S25 Ultra.

A Galaxy Tab S11 user reported this problem after updating their device and asked whether it was normal or a software bug. The Galaxy S25 Ultra also seems to have the same issue.

In response, a moderator from the Good Lock Support Team explained how the Sound Assistant feature works. According to the moderator, the volume display feature in Sound Assistant works only for media volume. This means it is designed to show the volume display when users adjust media sound.

However, it does not apply to other volume types, such as ringtone or notification volume. This clarification helps explain how the feature works, but it does not confirm whether the missing media icon is a bug in One UI 9.0.

For now, users can check their Sound Assistant settings and make sure they are adjusting media volume. If the issue continues, they can report it through the Samsung Members app.

Samsung has not yet provided a clear explanation of whether this behaviour is intentional or needs to be fixed. Galaxy Tab S11 and Galaxy S25 Ultra users may have to wait for further clarification or a future software update.

Google brings iMessage-like pinned messages to Android, but not everyone likes it

Published

on

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

Google Messages is getting a new pinned chats design, but users have different opinions about it. While some like the new look, others are not happy with the change.

The new design is similar to Apple’s iMessage. It adds a separate section at the top of the home screen for pinned chats. Users can see their favourite contacts as large profile pictures and open their conversations quickly.

However, many users think these contact pictures are too big. They take up a lot of screen space, leaving less room for regular conversations.

Some users also say the new design makes it harder to see their latest messages. Earlier, they could easily check recent conversations from the main chat list. Now, pinned contacts appear at the top and push other chats further down.

On the other hand, some users welcome the change. They believe it is a useful feature and are happy to see Google bringing an iMessage-like experience to Android.

There may also be more improvements coming. A recent app teardown revealed that Google could add animated typing indicators and better message previews to pinned chats in the future.

Still, users want more control over the new design. One popular suggestion is to allow users to change the size of pinned contact pictures. Since the feature is still rolling out, Google may consider user feedback and make some changes. Stay tuned.

Samsung users report missing Health app step history following recent software update

Published

Samsung Health October 2026 Update

A recent software update for Samsung Health appears to have introduced a localized visual bug, making step count data history missing from the app’s primary tracking view for a segment of users.

Reports surfacing across Reddit and Samsung’s official community forums indicate that step records prior to November 2 failed to render following the platform’s early November application build. The glitch (spotted by AndroidAuthority) specifically impacts the dedicated Steps tab, where previous daily totals display as zero.

However, underlying activity logs remain intact: cross-referencing affected dates within the app’s broader Daily Activity section confirms that historical step counts are still stored in the database rather than permanently erased.

User-led troubleshooting points toward a potential synchronization error tied to regional system time handling. Manual adjustments to device clock settings, specifically rolling back local system dates, temporarily restored missing historical entries, suggesting the issue likely stems from date-parser logic triggered during recent Daylight Saving Time transitions rather than database corruption.

Standard troubleshooting methods, including cache partition clears, application force-stops, and clean reinstalls, have proven ineffective in resolving the visual discrepancy.

This bug follows recent updates to Samsung’s broader Health suite, which has seen continuous back-end adjustments ahead of upcoming One UI feature rollouts. While minor UI rendering issues are not uncommon after major client-side updates, breaking user access to historical telemetry creates friction for long-term health tracking.

Samsung has not yet issued an official patch or public acknowledgment regarding the data display flaw. Affected users looking to preserve tracking continuity are advised to log telemetry reports via the Samsung Members portal while awaiting an iterative hotfix.
