Huawei Mate 60 Pro stuns with Samsung camera surprise!
Back in August, Huawei announced the Mate 60 Pro smartphone. Nikkei, in collaboration with Fomalhaut Techno Solutions, disassembled this Huawei flagship to analyze component costs. The teardown reveals a shocking camera from Samsung inside the Huawei Mate 60 Pro.
A tipster found that Nikkei Asia reports the use of a camera sensor manufactured by Samsung inside the Huawei Mate 60 Pro. While the Chinese phone maker is increasingly sourcing components for its smartphones in its home ground, teardown reveals 47% local parts.

Interestingly, Huawei’s new flagship boasts a Samsung camera rather than a Sony or Omnivision. Meanwhile, it’s not confirmed, which camera sensor is from Samsung; wide, ultrawide, or periscope telephoto. We might hear more about this finding in the near future, stay tuned!
Huawei Mate 60 Pro comes with a triple rear camera setup. The module consists of a 50-megapixel primary camera, a 48-megapixel periscope telephoto, and a 12-megapixel ultrawide lens. The primary image sensor supports Laser and Phase Detection Autofocus along with Optical Image Stabilization.
Wait a minute….
According to the Nikkei, the Huawei Mate 60 Pro has an image sensor from Samsung, not Sony or Omnivision….Surprising……I thought they'd use an Omnivision sensor for sure… pic.twitter.com/cWNkxrTzP8
