Samsung Galaxy S20 starts grabbing April 2023 security update
Samsung Galaxy S20 series starts getting the April 2023 security update in select markets. The company is bringing the latest Android patches, which fix Smart Suggestions and Exynos modem flaws to the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus, and S20 Utra flagships.
As part of the initial rollout, Samsung has released the Galaxy S20 lineup’s April 2023 security update in Brazil, Bolivia, and Trinidad and Tobago. However, the company won’t make you wait much longer for the new patch if you’ve not received it yet.

- Galaxy S20 Plus LTE/5G – G985FXXSGHWCF / G986BXXSGHWCF
- Galaxy S20 Ultra5G – G988BXXSGHWCF
Recently, Samsung published the April 2023 patch details, promising fixes for a number of CVEs along with flaws related to One UI’s Smart Suggestions function and Exynos modem (which was earlier discovered by Google’s Project Zero team).
April patch includes fixes for SVE-2022-3004 (CVE-2023-21473), SVE-2022-3001 (CVE-2023-21472) and SVE-2022-2755 (CVE-2023-21467). These vulnerabilities may have affected your device, letting a physical attacker execute arbitrary code in the bootloader.
No more OS upgrades!
In 2020, the South Korean tech giant unveiled the Galaxy S20 series, pre-equipped with the Android 10-based One UI 2.1 operating system. The company promised three major OS upgrades to S20 users, which it fulfilled with the Android 13-based One UI 5.0.
Nowadays, the company offers up to four OS upgrades to Galaxy A and Galaxy M series smartphones. The recently released Galaxy A54, A34, and M54 devices have extended software support compared to your premium Galaxy S20 smartphone.
Meanwhile, Samsung will continue to support the Galaxy S20 series for another year with new security patches on a regular basis. The S20 trio is eligible for four years of regular security updates so consumers can keep their phones longer without compromising reliability.

One UI 6.1 update brings the Circle to Search feature with Google so you can easily learn more about anything shown on your screen without switching apps. You just need to touch and hold the Home button or navigation handle, then circle anything on the screen to begin a Google Search.
In addition, the update adds several new features and improvements over the previous UI. It also installs the latest available versions of the stock apps.
Users can check new software updates manually with a handful of simple steps. Firstly, visit your Galaxy device’s “System Settings,” once done, scroll down and tap the “Software update” tab, followed by the “Download and install” button.

After Galaxy A54 5G, Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 6.1 update for Galaxy A34 5G smartphone users in Korea. The update brings new features and enhancements for a better and next-level experience.
Users of Samsung Galaxy A34 5G can identify the One UI 6.1 update with One UI build version A346NKSU5CXD5. The installation package size of this update is around 2.2GB.
One UI 6.1 introduces advanced image editing, including precise clipping and object transfer between photos. It enhances video editing with speed adjustments and cross-device state sharing.
The update adds depth effects to wallpapers, new widgets, and various font choices for better personalization. Users can now organize Modes and Routines directly from the home screen, and the Quick Share feature simplifies content sharing. The Samsung Find app and child account settings support security and family management.
Additionally, Samsung Internet allows tab group sharing, while Samsung Health offers customizable health goals and menstrual cycle tracking. You can download the update through Settings >> Software Update >> Download and install.
