Samsung starts rolling out April 2023 security update to the carrier-unlocked Galaxy S22 series. Users report that the update brings nothing other than system security improvements. Regardless, the company promised to bring Image Clipper with April’s firmware update.
According to the info, carrier-unlocked models of the Galaxy S22 series are receiving the April 2023 security update from Samsung. Consumers can identify the latest patch via PDA version numbers: S901U1UES2CWCC, S906U1UES2CWCC, and S908U1UES2CWCC for S22, S22 Plus, and S22 Ultra, respectively.
April 2023 update is quite important for Exynos-powered Galaxy S22 models as it fixes Exynos modem exposures, however, it doesn’t mean consumers who have Snapdragon-fueled units would skip it. Samsung recommends users keep phones updated with the latest software to have seamless experiences.
Samsung started rolling out the April patch with the Galaxy S23 series late last month. The latest flagships received a lot of camera-related improvements and optimization. Hopefully, the Galaxy S22 models may also receive necessary bug fixes for better camera performance with future software builds.
If you are in the US, and own a Galaxy S22 carrier-unlocked device, it’s time to grab the April software update, which is available on AT&T, Verizon, and Xfinity Mobile networks. After the unlocked models, major carriers are expected to provide the same treatment to their branded units.
One UI 6 Beta
Google is about to release the third Developer Preview build or first Public Beta of the Android 14 OS. Following Public Beta, Chinese vendors will test the new OS on their recent flagship models such as OnePlus 11 and Xiaomi 13. Meanwhile, you will have to wait until August or September 2023.
The South Korean tech giant won’t join Google’s Android development project as it runs an independent One UI Beta Program. Last year, the One UI 5 Beta went live in early August, two weeks before Android 13’s official launch on AOSP. We hope, One UI 6 Beta may be available in August 2023 for the S23 series.
