Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 gets March 2023 software update
Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 5G and Galaxy Tab S8+ 5G have begun collecting their March 2023 update in Europe. However, it’s worth mentioning that the latest update doesn’t install the fresh security patch, it only brings the February 2023 Android security patch to the customers.
The company is releasing this software update a few weeks after the devices gained the One UI 5.1 update. This firmware is likely to fix the problems and errors you were facing after installing One UI 5.1 software and makes the system apps and functions more reliable.

Meanwhile, for security enhancements, the company addresses a bunch of vulnerabilities and exposures to keep your private files and data safe on the device. These are a total of 52 issue fixes which include 45 CVE items from Google’s Android security bulletin.
At the same time, the company also resolved 7 Galaxy-specific issues for your Tab S8 that were affecting various One UI apps and services and harming the users’ data through the Contact app, Phone app, fingerprint scanner, and more.
Besides these, the official changelog for the update further notes enhancements for a bunch of stock One UI apps through updates. But the changelog does not suggest what changes and enhancements these applications are getting, you can earn out them once you install the new update for your tablet.
The list of apps that are being updated includes – Samsung Kids, Penup, Samsung Internet, Samsung Health, Smartthings, Samsung Flow, Samsung members, calculator, smart switch, and dictation device.

Google App bringing back Material 3 design for bottom bar
Google App is updating its bottom navigation bar by bringing back a more modern design called Material 3. This change introduces a new pill-shaped indicator that shows which tab you’re using.
The revamped bottom navigation bar arrives with the latest beta version 15.40 of the Google App, thanks to 9to5Google. With the fresh design, Google aims to make it easier for users to navigate.
Instead of just highlighting the tab icon you’re on, the new design surrounds the icon with a pill shape to make it clearer and more appealing. Google app initially introduced this design in 2023 but later decided to revert to its previous look. Now, after some changes, the app has once again been back with the updated look.
Aside from the testing new design, the company is also looking into a new verification feature for its Search function. This feature would give verified businesses a blue checkmark, similar to what you see in Gmail to help users easily identify trustworthy sources online.
Not everyone has access to Google App’s latest beta update yet, but users can force-stop the app through their device settings if they don’t see the new look right away. With the return of Material 3 design and new features on the way, users can look forward to a more enhanced experience in the Google App.
