Galaxy Z Fold 3

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G is the latest iteration of the Samsung Z Fold series. Along with its flagship, it features a 7.6-inch QXGA+ AMOLED display with a 6.2-inch HD+ Dynamic AMOLED cover display, it offers a unique form factor and some interesting productivity features.

Recently, a well-known camera evaluation platform – DxOMark published its latest report on Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 5G camera score that lists the device at DxO’s.

Although the camera specs between Fold 2 and Fold 3 look very similar, the improved fine-tuning and Snapdragon 888 chipset make a big improvement over this latest model. In addition, DxOMark claimed that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 defeated Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra, Z Fold 2 and other models from an imaging point of view.

Galaxy Z Fold3 5G Camera - DxOMark

Overall the DXOMARK camera has a score of 124, which is still slightly behind the best performers like the Huawei P50 Pro or iPhone 12 Pro Max in our ultra-premium rankings.

For still photos, the Fold 3 5G has its own set against Samsung’s own S21 Ultra 5G (Snapdragon) and offers a precise exposure with a very wide dynamic range, pleasant colors and neutral white balance.

Key camera specifications of Galaxy Z Fold 3:

  • Primary: 12 MP sensor with f/1.8-aperture lens
  • Ultra-wide: 12 MP sensor with f/2.2-aperture lens
  • Tele: 12 MP sensor with f/2.4-aperture x2 optical lens
  • Video: 4K at 60fps, 1080p at 240 fps, 720p at 960fps (4K/30fps tested)
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset

Equipped with a 2x optical telephoto lens, the close and medium-range zoom shots are also high quality but do not compete with the 10x periscope camera in the long-range Fold 3 5G S21 Ultra 5G (Snapdragon).

OnePlus Open 2 to use more powerful Snapdragon chip than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6

Published

OnePlus Open

OnePlus Open 2 is reportedly delayed to 2025 in favor of a fruitful chipset upgrade. Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July this year, whereas its toughest competitor seemingly pushed it to 2025, skipping a release later this year.

X tipster @That_Kartikey claims that the OnePlus Open 2 may not be coming this year. Oppo’s strategic foldables: Find N5 series is also reportedly halted. Another fairly reliable tipster @chunvn8888 revealed that the launch is scheduled for next year instead.

The next OPPO and OnePlus foldables would be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. Therefore, a delayed launch would result in a pretty beneficial upgrade.

OnePlus debuted its first foldable smartphone in late last year. It is a pretty powerful foldable handset, featuring pro-grade specifications. In 2023, it was the first time that Samsung faced a double-sided attack from Google and OnePlus in its foldable business.

While OnePlus delaying its foldable product, Samsung has also entered a review of the affordable Fold plan. The rumored Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE might not be released this year due to many reasons. Meanwhile, the Z Flip 7 FE may be launched alongside regular models next year.
