WhatsApp has been exploring dozens of new features and changes in its instant messaging in recent times. Continuing with this trend, the company is now making new changes to WhatsApp beta users, bringing a new UI of contact information, new disappearing message options, multi-device upgrades, and more.
Many of these features were once seen in WhatsApp APK teardowns, but now that’s when WhatsApp is starting to release itself to beta users (via WABetainfo). First and foremost, the latest beta update brings a new UI screen for contact information. While some beta users have been able to access this new UI since the last beta update, it is now on its way to a wider set of users.
WhatsApp released the disappearing messages on Android and iOS last year, allowing users to send harmful messages after a while. In August, it is learned that WhatsApp was preparing to add 90-day and 24-hour options to the disappearing message feature. These options are now finally being released to users with the latest beta update.
- To enable disappearing messages, go to Settings> Account> Privacy> Default message timer.
Lastly, if you are using a multi-device feature, WhatsApp will no longer send notifications about security code changes every time a list of connected devices is updated. This update was introduced via WhatsApp beta for Android 18.104.22.168 and is now out for more users with the latest update.
WhatsApp has encountered several new developments over the past few weeks, including the ability to transfer WhatsApp conversations from iOS to Android 12 devices, end-to-end t0-end backup encryption, and more.
WhatsApp will start suggesting list of similar channels based on relevance soon
The Channels feature on WhatsApp has been getting more promising since the day it was unveiled, and providing users with a more relevant experience. Therefore, WhatsApp will soon start suggesting a list of similar channels based on relevance and similarity to other existing channels.
According to information, WhatsApp is working on a new feature that will suggest similar channels, and help users to discover new content that might align with their interests. Many users may not be aware of all the channels available on WhatsApp that cater to their interests.
Thus, by suggesting similar channels, WhatsApp will help users discover a wider range of content that they may find relevant and engaging. However, if users choose to follow a new channel or view the information of a channel they already follow, WhatsApp will suggest a list of similar channels based on their relevance.
It’s worth noting that only verified channels will be suggested, ensuring that users only receive recommendations from trusted sources. Simultaneously, these suggestions are based on the similarity of channel content rather than personalized algorithms analyzing user interests.
Consequently, the feature to suggest similar channels is under development and it will be available in a future update of WhatsApp.

With the latest 184.108.40.206 version, WhatsApp is rolling out a new feature that will help users access channel reports. With the addition of this option, WhatsApp assures users transparency and engagement within the platform.
Notably, this WhatsApp feature was designed to list all channel reports submitted by users, offering them valuable insights into the results of reports they’ve previously submitted to the moderation team.
The new channel reports will help users see the tangible impact of their actions, and feel motivated to continue reporting inappropriate content or behavior, contributing to making the platform safer for all users.
Consequently, users will be able to easily review and monitor the status of reports they have submitted. However, the feature to access channel reports is available to some beta testers at the moment and will be available for users around the world in the coming weeks.
