Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 to feature brighter screen, S Pen support increased thickness

Samsung’s next folding-screen phones are expected to be launched this summer, while there have a number of leaks already been surfaced on the web. However, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Flip 3 will feature an inward folding design, the same as their predecessors, but there will be upgrades in other functionalities.
According to the latest information, the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is said to adopt a new generation of UTG (ultra-thin glass) technology. Although the screen polarizer is reduced, the phone will still be thicker than its predecessor, Galaxy Z Fold 2 as it supports S Pen input.
Display Search Analyst Ross Young revealed that the addition of S Pen support, which requires an additional sensing layer at the bottom of the screen, is the reason behind its increased thickness. Besides, it will offer significantly higher brightness and more power-saving than Z Fold 2 as a benefit of no polarizing layer.
That means the reduction of the battery capacity from 4500mAh to 4250mAh will not decrease the experience. At the same time, it is reported that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 is expected to feature a 5.4″ screen while folded and 7.7″ in the unfolded condition.
As per a recent report, Samsung began the mass production of the external elements of the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 and it could be introduced somewhere in August this year, featuring an invisible selfie camera, S Pen support, One UI 3.5 version, and much more.
Because there is no polarizer, it will be quite a bit brighter with lower power. This is why reducing the battery capacity from 4500 to 4275 mAh is not an issue.

Google foldable launch delayed until 2023! Samsung doesn’t know whether to be happy or not!

Samsung now has a big range of foldable screen devices including the latest Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3. Earlier, it was reported that Google is also preparing to join the foldable smartphone market, while recent news suggests that its launch is now postponed until Spring 2023.
According to the information (via @DSCCRoss), Google has postponed the launch of its first foldable smartphone called Pixel Notepad until 2023. While the industry was expecting its arrival during the I/O 2022, Google shifted this timeline until the next Spring.

On the other hand, Samsung is swiftly working on the fourth generation of the Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip lines, while the phones reportedly launching this August. As Google’s delaying its foldable launch, it’s a good sign for Samsung that it won’t face competition, at least this year.

At the same time, this is not wholly good news for Samsung as its Display is likely not receiving foldable panel orders for the Pixel Notepad this year. So, if there’s no Pixel foldable phone coming, Samsung Display’s shipments will remain to Samsung Electronics only.

Samsung making something that most of the Galaxy S23 buyers won’t like

Samsung is reportedly working on two new Exynos mobile chipsets including a mid-range and a flagship. Previously, it is reported that the company won’t launch any Exynos variant of its upcoming flagship smartphone lineup, due to the poor response of Exynos 2200.
Meanwhile, the latest report claims that the Korean tech giant is still working on a new flagship Exynos processor that is likely to be installed in the upcoming Galaxy S23 series smartphones. The codename of that under-development chipset is S5E9935, while the Exynos 2200’s codename is S5E9925.

According to the company’s naming practice, this chipset might debut as the Exynos 2300 next year. However, there’s no information available regarding the upgrades and improvements of this chipset over the Exynos 2200 that packs AMD’s Xclipse GPU.

This year, Samsung extended the Snapdragon variant models’ availability to more regions compared to the previous years. The company is shipping the Snapdragon variants of the Galaxy S22 series in one of the biggest markets in the world – India, where Exynos was shipped for years.
If Samsung is going to introduce the Exynos 2300 chipset this year, it will surely be debuting with the Galaxy S23 series phones, however, the availability will be limited. If Samsung remains on its Exynos 2300 chip development, the Galaxy S23 buyers’ Snapdragon-only dream will remain a dream.
