Samsung One UI 7.0 likely to release on time – here’s why

Published

One UI 7

Samsung has announced that it will release One UI 7.0, and we can expect that the update will be released on time for eligible devices amid delay speculations.

A few days ago, Samsung published a release date for an official One UI 7.0 rollout for global devices. The rollout will start on April 7 for the Galaxy S24 series, and expand for Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 devices. The company shared a different timeline for the US users and its rollout projected for April 10.

The new ruckus initiated when Samsung removed this press release from the US newsroom. After removal, the press-release’s thumbnail and title are still available, but it cannot be opened.

So, does this mean Samsung will postpone will delay the rollout from April to May? Before speculations, let’s take a look at the facts.

For now, the company has only takedown US-specific post, the other one is still available on the global website.

What’s more interesting is that Samsung not only shared a rollout date for the US and Global website but also published an identical press-release on countries’ websites from Asia, Middle East, Europe and South America.

It’s been three months since Samsung opened a new beta test and rolled out five One UI 7 test builds for the Galaxy S24 series.

These beta softwares have brought new features as well as bug fixes to improve the user experience. My hands-on experience reveals that One UI 7 beta has already acting like a stable software. And no issues have been found so far in Galaxy S24 models that could sacrifice the performance.

Additionally, the South Koren phone maker has released the March 2025 security patch for S24 models with One UI 6.1. The changelog also mentions system stability improvements and bug fixes.

It suggests that the S24 series could receive the One UI 7.0 on time without further delay, especially for the global users. However, the company might have some new plans for the US users, which we’ll get familiar with very soon.

Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra One UI Now Bar

Samsung fans are super excited about One UI 7, the latest update based on Google’s Android 15. But with lots of rumors out there, it’s tough to tell what’s real. That’s why this article sticks strictly to official information straight from Samsung—no guesses, no leaks, just the real deal. Let’s dive into what we know about the release date, rollout timeline, and which devices are officially confirmed to get this update.

This article is all about verified details from Samsung. You won’t find unconfirmed rumors or predictions here. We’re focusing on the release date, the rollout schedule (both beta and stable versions), and the Galaxy devices the company has officially confirmed as part of the One UI 7 journey. If it’s not from the source, it’s not in this article.

Samsung One UI 7 Release Date:

Samsung kicked things off with One UI 7 on January 22, 2025, when the company unveiled the Galaxy S25 series at their big Galaxy Unpacked event. This wasn’t a surprise—new flagship phones usually come with the latest update. So, the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra launched out of the box running the stable version of One UI 7. But if you have an older Galaxy phone, you have to wait a bit longer. Samsung didn’t send it to other devices right away, but the company has now told us more about what’s coming next.

One UI 7 Rollout Timeline: Beta and Stable Updates

Here’s the breakdown based on what the company has officially announced:

Beta Program: The One UI 7 beta program started back on December 5, 2024, giving Galaxy S24 series users in select countries a first taste. It began in places like the US, UK, Germany, Korea, Poland, and India. To join, the Galaxy users required the Samsung Members app and an eligible device. Since then, Samsung has expanded the beta program to more devices.

Beta Expansion: On March 5, 2025, Samsung shared a big update: the One UI 7 beta program has now included more Galaxy devices. Starting last week, the Galaxy Z Fold6 and Z Flip6 in India, Korea, the UK, and the US got access. The Galaxy S23 series and Galaxy Tab S10 series also joined the beta program. Later in March, the beta will hit the Galaxy A55.

Stable Rollout Begins in April 2025: Here’s the big news—Samsung confirmed the stable version of One UI 7 will start rolling out in April 2025. The stable rollout for global users is set to begin on April 7, 2025. For users leaving in the US, Samsung US initially announced a specific release date of April 10, 2025, but later retracted that statement, removing the exact date from the official newsroom. They now simply point to a broader “April” 2025 timeframe for the release.

The Galaxy S24 series, which has been in the beta program for months and received 5 beta builds, is expected to be first in line for the stable One UI 7 update. Other devices like the Z Fold6, Z Flip6, and S23 series, should follow soon after. A recent Samsung blog post stated that the S24, Fold6, and Flip6 would receive the One UI 7 update on April 10. However, as noted earlier, this specific date has since been withdrawn.

The previous stable version, One UI 6, came out faster, but Samsung says One UI 7 has some of the biggest changes since 2018, so that’s why Samsung is taking more time.

Samsung hasn’t released a full, detailed list of every device getting One UI 7 just yet, but the company has now dropped enough hints to know who’s on the elite list. Here’s what’s officially confirmed:

  • Galaxy S25 Series: Launched with One UI 7 pre-installed on January 22, 2025. That includes the S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra.
  • Galaxy S24 Series: The first to get the beta in December 2024 and confirmed for the stable update in April 2025. This covers the S24, S24+, and S24 Ultra.

  • Galaxy Tab S8 Series

  • Galaxy A55: Confirmed for the beta in March 2025, marking it as a mid-range contender for the update.

One UI 7 Supprting Devices

Based on its software update policy—seven years of software support for flagships and four years for many mid-rangers—devices like the Galaxy S22, S21, and select A-series phones are eligible devices. Still, until Samsung drops the full list, we are sticking to what’s confirmed so far.

One UI 7 features

Samsung seems to have delayed the One UI 7 update from the officially confirmed April 7 release date. After scrapping the release date post from its US Newsroom, Samsung’s latest press release comes without an exact rollout date.

Latest One UI 7 press release has NO RELEASE DATE

The latest Samsung press release states that “One UI 7 will begin rollout out from April [A], expanding to more Galaxy smartphones and tablets in the following weeks [B].”

As you can see, Samsung has quietly removed an exact rollout date in its newest Newsroom post. The release timeline remains April but it could either be the end of the month as well.

Beyond that, the footnotes indirectly recommend users should not expect the update on the same day as other regions as the “availability and timing may vary by market.”

One UI 7 Update Probably Delayed

Source – Samsung Australia

The latest One UI 7 rollout press release is posted by Samsung Newsroom Australia. The initial post was published on March 18 on Global and many regional Newsrooms.

Later, Samsung Singapore went a step ahead; confirming a wide range of Galaxy devices that will be getting the Android 15-based One UI 7.0 software upgrade.

Yesterday, we spotted that the One UI 7 post is no longer available on Samsung’s US Newsroom. The company hasn’t also posted any message or notification clarifying the removal of the post.

Is the One UI 7 release delayed?

As of now, Samsung has just removed the release date from its new post. The Global, Korean, and other Newsroom posts are still unchanged, so there’s a chance for the update on April 7.

It was the first time Samsung officially announced the update’s availability, weeks ago. The company may have done it mistakenly, which is now (probably) being fixed sequentially.

Breaking: Samsung US drops One UI 7 bombshell, deletes April rollout post

One UI 7

One UI 7 rollout may face a delay in the US as Samsung deleted the Newsroom post. In a surprise move, the company’s US subsidiary has pulled down the April release post from official Newsroom without any clarification.

Apart from the Newsroom post, Samsung US has also scrapped One UI 7 rollout-related posts from its social media handles such as X. Following the Global release on April 7, the US rollout was slated to start on April 10 nationwide.

Meanwhile, Samsung didn’t touch any Newsroom posts on Global and other regional Newsrooms. We’ve seen such incidents with the One UI 6’s rollout in 2023 when the Beta Program was halted due to unforeseen reasons in the US.

As of the time of writing, the US Newsroom post is not live (link to removed post). There may be a separate announcement that might come with some changes in the release date or device availability for the US market.

Here’s what Samsung US announced on March 18

On March 18, Samsung officially announced the One UI 7 distribution starting on April 7. Beyond that, we’ve spotted that the US availability is set for April 10, 3 days late than the initial release for Asian and European consumers.

Samsung planned to release the official One UI 7 update for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6 on April 10 in the US. There seems a modification in the original plan that led the company to ditch the Newsroom post.

What next?

One UI 7 Beta Program is live in seven countries including the US. Recently, Galaxy S24 series users have received the fifth Beta update with plenty of bug fixes and improvements that brought the experience close to Stable software.

It’s March 21st and the rollout was slated for April 10. Practically, the removal of the Newsroom post isn’t disappointing news for Galaxy fans. There are still 20 days left and Samsung US will make things done to ensure matching Global pace.

We will keep you posted.
