Samsung expands Galaxy S20 5G series’ April 2023 update to more countries in Europe including Germany. The company brings the most up-to-date Android security patches with a new firmware update for the Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra.
As the rollout of the Samsung Galaxy S20 5G lineup’s April 2023 update has just begun in Germany, users residing in other European markets may soon get the OTA. You can identify the fresh firmware for your model through the version numbers listed below:
- Galaxy S20 5G – G981BXXUGHWCG
- S20 Plus 5G – G986BXXUGHWCG
- S20 Ultra 5G – G988BXXUGHWCG

Samsung’s April 2023 Android patches consist of fixes for several bugs and viruses. The company has also included a solution for the last remaining Exynos modem-related vulnerability. It makes April 2023 patch a must-install firmware on your Samsung device.
Back in February, the South Korean tech giant released One UI 5.1 as the last major One UI update for the Galaxy S20 series. There will not be any new Android OS upgrade for your device in the future, therefore, you will be needing to enjoy new security patches for another year.
How to install:
Samsung devices get new software updates over the air. As soon as your device becomes eligible for installing new firmware, you will get notified. Meanwhile, you can also force a manual install by going to Settings >> Software update >> Download and install.
Google’s Pixel phones received the first Developer Preview of Android 15 in April 2024. The new operating system will remain limited to the Pixel lineup until I/O, while, Samsung will open its Beta Program — One UI 7 — for Galaxy devices sometime in August 2024.
One UI 6.1 is the latest Galaxy skin based on Android 14. The One UI 7, powered by Android 15 will debut on many Samsung devices later this year. While it’s just the beginning of 2024, we already know Galaxy devices are eligible for Android 15.

Google released Android 15 DP2 in late March and Public Beta also started in April 2024. Around I/O 2024, Android vendors like Xiaomi, OPPO, and OnePlus will also initial Public Beta for their flagships, which Samsung is unlikely to follow.

Samsung has rolled out a fresh firmware update with an April 2024 security patch for the Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphone in India. Users can identify the latest update through One UI build version G781BXXSAHXD1.
April 2024 security update for Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphone is already available in the US and Europe. It may take some hours or days to reach all eligible markets.
The fresh security patch fixes over 40 issues to enhance the system security and stability of the devices. Through this update, the Korean tech giant aims to provide an uninterrupted and intuitive experience.
Users will have to download a 263.90MB package to install the April 2024 update on their Galaxy S20 FE 5G smartphone in India. To check and install you just need to visit Settings >> Software Update >> Download and install.

Welcome Galaxy Fans! Samsung is regularly enhancing the user experience by regularly providing updates for its One UI devices and software. In the fourth week of April 2024, Samsung deployed the latest One UI update to several Galaxy devices.
April 2024 security update does not include One UI 6.1 features for the Galaxy S22 series, along with the Z Fold 4 and Flip 4. These devices are scheduled to receive the update in the next week. The Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy Z Fold 3, and Galaxy Z Flip 3 are also expected to receive this major update together in May 2024.
