Samsung opens first SmartThings Home in Dubai
On October 6, Samsung opened SmartThings Home in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. It is Samsung’s first Multi Device Experience space in the Middle East. The company has built it in 278 square meters of space on the first floor of the Dubai Butterfly Building near Samsung Middle East Headquarters.
This Multi Device Experience in Dubai has 15 different SmartThings scenarios to explore, which are packed with features designed to enhance the lifestyles of local customers in the Middle East, such as Prayer Mode and Sandstorm Mode.

Customized for the Culture and Climate of the country:
Samsung Dubai SmartThings Home is divided into four zones including Home Office, Living Room & Kitchen, Gaming, and Contents Studio. These zones let customers experience how life becomes more convenient and enjoyable by connecting SmartThings to various Samsung devices, from mobile devices to home appliances and even display products.

It also has exclusive zones customized for local residents’ lifestyles, such as Prayer Mode and Sandstorm Mode. For instance, Sandstorm Mode was developed for the frequent sand and dust storms in the Middle East.
Prayer Mode was developed for SALAH, which is the prayer of Muslims, observed five times every day at prescribed times. When it becomes time to pray, users will receive a notification on their smartwatch.
In addition, the Dubai SmartThings Home has Contents Creation Studio for the members who enjoy expressing themselves through social media. This studio is open for anyone to use.
Customers can control various devices including smartphones, lighting, and TVs with the touch of a button to instantly create a dedicated space optimized for content creation.
President of Samsung Gulf Electronics Seong Hyun Lee said, “Starting with SmartThings Home Dubai, which is the first SmartThings experience zone in the Middle East, we plan to expand the SmartThings experience to major stores, such as brand shops, to continue our effort to explore meaningful experiences through connectivity in the region.”
Korea’s Samsung Display and LG Display prep to initiate Apple iPhone 16 Pro display production in the first half. The report states that Apple has reduced the bottom bezel of the display for the upcoming Pro models, which would include the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max.
According to TheElec, Samsung Display will commence Apple iPhone 16 display production in the first half itself. While the timeline isn’t clear, it’s expected that LG Display is also striving to begin the mass production of panels for the iPhone 16 Pro lineup.
Samsung reportedly established an organization earlier this month to strengthen its Apple business. It is reported that the Border Reduction Structure (BRS) technology is applied to make the bottom bezel thinner on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models.
Samsung Display will likely produce OLED panels for all four models, including two Pro models and the other regular and Plus models. Meanwhile, LG Display plans to produce only two models, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max, which require a thin bottom bezel.

Samsung just trolled Apple over reports of faulty iPhone alarms. The company’s UK account posted the mockery Reels on Instagram, trolling Apple following reports from some iPhone users regarding the alarms problem.
It isn’t the first time Samsung is making fun of its biggest rival. The Korean tech giant doesn’t have sweet relationships with Apple’s iPhone business, as it’s the biggest rival internationally apart from the US leadership.
“Rest assured our alarms GO OFF,” the company writes (via TechRadar) in its latest meme-based Instagram post, adding in the caption: “Samsung users woke up on time today.”
Samsung has a long history of mocking Apple, which is refreshed with the latest incident. While the Instagram post doesn’t clearly mention Apple or iPhone anywhere, the subject of the meme-based post is a no-brainer.
iPhone Alarms Bug
Due to iOS setting issue, iPhone alarms are not working properly, some Apple users report. The iPhone maker acknowledged the issue saying “an issue causing some iPhone alarms to not play as expected.” The best part is the company is preparing a fix, which should be rolled out soon.
