Google Play Store getting new Android 12 Material You tweaks
OEMs are likely to conclude the Android 12 update deployment as Google showcased the new Android 13 operating system, which will go official later this year. Consumers are now waiting for the Android 13 upgrade, while Google is now updating the Play Store with more Android 12 Material You buttons.
With the Android 12 upgrade, Google delivered just a handful of tweaks inspired by the Material You design suite. However, users are now getting more new Material You tweaks such as buttons with new the Google Play Store update.
As you can see in the screenshot below (via 9to5Google), the slightly rectangular buttons of the Google Play Store are now revamped and adapted into pill-shaped buttons. If you access an app’s listing, Google Play Store will show you the new pill-shaped elements entitled “Install,” “Uninstall” “Cancel” and “Update”.
Aside from the revamped buttons, the remaining ones don’t adopt Dynamic Color theming and continue using the default Green color. It’s worth mentioning that last October’s Google Play Store update included UI tweaks for the homescreen only, consisting of a new search field, bottom bar, and Dynamic Color for those two key elements.
Android 12
Google launched the Android 12 operating system back in October 2021. This version is packed with radical design changes (in the history of Android) and newly added features. Also, the company introduced the new Material You design language along with the 12th version of Android.
Android 13
Beta program is already live, while Google is likely to seed the Public version of the Android 13 operating system sometime in October this year. The 13th version is likely not to introduce major changes in the user interface as Google’s further enhancing the changes and features arrived with Android 12.
One UI 5
Samsung One UI 5 will be based on the Android 13 OS. The Galaxy S22 series devices are expected to be eligible for Beta testing this month, while Stable rollout will happen later this year. Recently, a handful of screenshots revealed design changes and new features of the One UI 5.0, which you can see here.

We are in May 2024 and Samsung Core Services app gets a new update with version 3.0.00.56. The new update comes with significant enhancements to the user experience and enhances the app’s performance through improvements and fixes.
The update fixes some minor bugs that have been affecting the app’s functionality. These fixes are essential as they ensure a smoother, more reliable experience for all users.
Additionally, the update includes app stability and reliability improvements, which means that the app is also only becoming more secure and stable. However, the changelog does not contain any new features or changes.
Samsung Core Services May 2024 update is available on the Galaxy Store with an installation package size of 132.29MB, you can download it. Also, you can sideload it from the third-party app link.

WhatsApp for Android has pushed a new update with version 2.24.10.8, introducing a chat filtering feature for better storage management. This feature is currently in beta testing and available to some beta testers.
The Chat filtering feature of WhatsApp allows users to sort their chats and channels to make it easier to identify and manage storage with large files and vast chat history. With this feature, users can quickly find and delete unnecessary data, freeing up space on their devices by separating conversations.
Previously, WhatsApp had released basic chat filters such as “All”, “Unread”, and “Groups” to help users navigate their chat lists. The new update builds on this functionality to offer better organization of messages and media files.
This new feature is mainly beneficial for distinguishing between business accounts and channels that may have similar names or icons.
WhatsApp’s Chat filtering feature is expected to be made available to more beta testers soon and may be released to all users in a future update.
