Samsung ranks first in the global semiconductor market

Samsung has been progressive all around the year despite the GOS controversy, S22 underperformance, and slowdown. It has reached new heights whether we talk about the S22 smartphone market sales crossing one million, No.1 ranking in OLED TV production, or launching any tech-savvy portable screens such as the Freestyle. Now organizing itself to increase the substrate productivity at its foundry.

Businesskorea reportedly revealed that Samsung Electronics ranked first in the global semiconductor wafer market with a 19 percent share. Samsung Electronics is followed by TSMC, Micron Technology, SK Hynix, and Kioxia. The top five players held a combined market share of 57 percent.

Samsung Electronics has a monthly production capacity of 4.05 million sheets of the wafer. Its production capacity grew by 20 percent compared to 3364,000 sheets at the end of the year 2020.

The market share has also swelled from 17 percent at the end of 2020 to 19 percent at the end of 2021. TSMC came in second place with a production capacity of 2.80 million sheets of wafer per month.

Its market share stood at 13 percent, the same as that in 2020. This point is to be noted that TSMC was the only foundry player among the top five substrate-making companies. The Micron Technology of the United States came in third in the production capacity with 2.05 million sheets per month with a market share of 10 percent.

SK Hynix stood in the fourth position with 1.98 million sheets of production and 9 percent of the market share. The Kioxia in Japan came 5th with 1.33 million sheets per month and 6 percent of the market share.

Samsung is going to launch its large smart OLEDs in the month of May 2022 and maybe preparing for that. Let us see how these OLEDs will perform featuring the self substrates.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, XCover 7, and XCover 6 Pro get enhanced 4G support update

Samsung has started rolling out the advanced 4G band support update for Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, Galaxy XCover 7, and Galaxy XCover 6 devices. The update 4G network compatibility by enhancing the band.

The fresh update has revised support for the LTE TDD band. For German-purchased devices, the update will disable TDD 4G network support in ten European countries including Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.

In addition, the update also improves the security and stability of the device. It also fixes some issues for error-free services.

One UI 6.1 update was released to bring a host of improvements, including a more intuitive interface and advanced AI capabilities. However, the lock screen and rebooting issues have delayed these benefits for users worldwide.
