Samsung releases July 2021 security update to the Galaxy Tab A 8.0
Instead of the latest flagships, Samsung is distributing the latest security patch to the older Galaxy devices like the Galaxy S10, Tab Active 2, and Galaxy Fold. Now, it’s Galaxy Tab A 8.0’s turn to grab the new July 2021 security update.
According to the info, Samsung started releasing a new firmware update to the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 tablets in select European countries. It improves the system security by installing the latest Android and One UI patches released in July 2021.
If you own the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 device, then you can identify the latest release via software version T295XXU4CUF8. However, it’s an initial rollout, the Korean tech giant will expand its reach to other markets in the coming days.

So far the company has not yet released the details of this new security update for the Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, it’s expected to be published in the coming days and expected to fix the Android Auto issue that some users were facing.
Launched back in July 2019, Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 came with Android 9-based One UI 1.x out of the box. Later on, the company upgraded it to the Android 10-based One UI 2 last year, followed by Android 11-based One UI 3.1 a few days ago.

- Open device Settings
- Scroll down and tap on Software updates
- Hit the Download and install button.

Samsung Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, XCover 7, and XCover 6 Pro get enhanced 4G support update
Samsung has started rolling out the advanced 4G band support update for Galaxy Tab Active 4 Pro, Galaxy XCover 7, and Galaxy XCover 6 devices. The update 4G network compatibility by enhancing the band.
The fresh update has revised support for the LTE TDD band. For German-purchased devices, the update will disable TDD 4G network support in ten European countries including Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Switzerland, and the Czech Republic.
In addition, the update also improves the security and stability of the device. It also fixes some issues for error-free services.

Google Play Store widely releasing ‘Government’ badge for official apps
Google has rolled out a ‘Government’ badge on the Play Store to identify official apps. This badge is marked by an icon of a building and appears in various sections of the store, including the main app feed, search results, and on app pages, next to the app’s rating.
Over 3,000 official apps have received the government badge after a period of testing. Google has collaborated with the respective governments and their developers to ensure the authenticity of these apps.
The badge is now visible on official apps from state and federal governments in several countries, including Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, South Korea, the UK, and the US.
It is recommended by official parties or agencies to use government emails when setting up their developer accounts. Apps that involve sensitive information, like voting or ID services, undergo extra verification.
By clicking on the badge, you can confirm that the app is verified and affiliated with a government entity. This new feature aims to provide users with a secure way to access government services through their mobile devices.
