Samsung has begun rolling out its August 2026 security update for the Galaxy Tab S9 series. The update is currently available in South Korea for the Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra. Samsung has released the update for these tablets ahead of its newer Galaxy tablets.

August 2026 security update brings important security improvements to the Galaxy Tab S9 series. The update fixes a total of 56 security issues, helping make the tablets safer and more secure. Samsung is expected to release the update in other countries over the next few days.

The Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+, and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra get the August 2026 security update with a version ending with EZH3. The firmware version may be different depending on the model and region.

Users can check for the August 2026 update by opening Settings >> Software update >> Check for updates. If the update is available, tap Download and install. Users should keep their tablet connected to Wi-Fi and have enough battery before starting the update.

Samsung claimed the red screen issue is occurring due to errors in color calibration. The company started offering free calibration at authorized service centers and promised an OTA update.

August 2026 is the release date, which includes improvements to address the red screen problem. This is a crucial OTA that will make corrections to your phone’s screen color calibration.

Apart from screen improvements, the August update has patches for 58 vulnerabilities. Earlier this month, the company detailed its August patch, which brings 38 CVE items from Google and an additional 18 SVEs from Samsung.

Additionally, the update will also clean up internal storage by removing unnecessary files and cache. It will improve your device’s performance and efficiency; however, initial experience might be a bit buggy until full optimization.

To download the update, head to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

August is already moving fast, but Samsung’s August 2026 update rollout is still moving slowly. The company has started the rollout, but only some Galaxy phones have received the latest security update. This is much slower than the regular monthly security update rollout.
