Samsung is rolling out a big 1.5GB software update to Galaxy XR headset users. It follows the release of the February 2026 patch in May 2026. The latest OTA has the June 2026 patch, not the latest, but a significant bump.

Software update information

  • Build Number: I610UEU2AZF3
  • Changelog:
    • Security
      • The device is protected with improved security.
  • Security patch level: June 2026

These changes may vary depending on the model, country, or network operator of the customer environment.

For now, if you’re using a Galaxy XR headset, it’s worth heading into Settings > Software Update and pulling the latest build.

Since the April update, Galaxy XR users have been dealing with a frustrating and unacceptable stability issue that turned the device into a stuttering mess due to a memory leak.

A new update, version I610UEU2AZD8, is rolling out, and it directly targets the memory leak that has been crippling the Galaxy XR experience.

The confirmation comes via Google’s XR community team, with Grace outlining that the patch focuses on system stability and performance improvements based on user feedback.

The memory leak caused various issues such as frame rates diving, tracking becoming unreliable, and thermals beginning to creep up as the system struggles to compensate.

To Google’s credit, the response time has been relatively quick once the issue gained traction. The lack of a detailed changelog is disappointing, especially for a problem this severe, but the intent is clear.

Meanwhile, early feedback from the community is mixed. Tracking hitches are gone and overall responsiveness feels tighter. However, there are fresh concerns emerging, particularly around Virtual Desktop usage.

Some users are seeing corrupted or garbled frames when moving the cursor between virtual displays. It’s not widespread yet, but it’s enough to keep a close eye on.

Saamsung One UI Software Update

Samsung Galaxy devices are starting to receive the Google Play system update dated July 2026. The latest version’s rollout has reportedly started for Galaxy phones running Android 16 (Stable) and Android 17 (Beta).

Google Play system update comes to Samsung phones with core Android improvements. These releases arrive directly from Google, with no involvement from Samsung. Galaxy phones and tablets benefit from these upgrades.

Tech enthusiast @theonecid spotted the July GPSU rolling out to Android and Samsung devices. The update has apparently landed on a wide range of Galaxy devices, including the One UI 9 Beta models such as the Galaxy S26 series.

Play System updates often block when the OS is in its Beta state. However, the One UI 9 Beta is seemingly retaining support for these releases. Galaxy users should can check for updates under Settings > Security and privacy > Updates.

Samsung updates Quarterly Security List with 2 new additions, 1 exit

Published

Samsung Galaxy A27 5G

Samsung has refreshed its software update roadmap for July 2026, and the Quarterly Security List comes out of it with a different shape than it had in June. Two phones have joined the list for the first time, and one has aged out for good.

What actually changed

Comparing July’s roadmap against June’s, three moves stand out in the Quarterly tier:

  • 2 additions: Galaxy A27 5G, Galaxy M47 5G (both new entrants straight into Quarterly category)
  • 1 removal: Galaxy M13 (aligns with the ~4-year EOL note attached to the June chart)
  • 0 shifts, 0 changes to the Monthly chart

The Galaxy A27 5G slots into the A Series alongside the A23, A25, and A26 5G, while the Galaxy M47 5G joins the M Series next to the M44 5G.

Neither phone launched into the Monthly tier; both go straight into Quarterly, which is standard practice for new A- and M-series devices.

One phone exits

The 4G variant of the Galaxy M13 has been dropped from the list entirely, meaning it’s reached the end of its software support window.

The 5G variant, Galaxy M13 5G, isn’t affected and keeps receiving Quarterly patches as before. If you’re still on the 4G M13, this is a good moment to think about whether it’s time to upgrade.

Everything else, including the Fold 3 5G/Flip 3 5G, the S22 and S21 FE 5G, the C, F, Tab S, and Tab A lineups, and the enterprise-tier devices, carried over unchanged. The Monthly tier (Samsung’s flagship-grade S, Z, and enterprise rugged devices) wasn’t touched at all this cycle.

July 2026 security patch details

The roadmap update landed a day after Samsung published the July 2026 security patch details, and the numbers are meaty. This month’s Security Maintenance Release addresses 41 Android CVEs and 16 One UI SVEs.
