Earlier this month, the Samsung Galaxy A54 smartphone received an Android 14-based One UI 6.1 update with a bunch of enhancements and improvements. Now, the company is rolling out the May 2024 security update for the Galaxy A54 smartphone.

The fresh security patch comes with fixes for security flaws to make the smartphone more secure and stable. It does not bring any significant changes or new features but provides a smoother experience.

Users of Samsung Galaxy A54 are getting a May 2024 security update with One UI build version A546BXXS8CXE2 and an installation package size of 268MB. The update is currently rolling out in Europe and the company will soon make it available in more countries.

You can check the update by navigating to the device’s Settings, then a Software update, and Download and Install. If you have received the update, install it now to get enhanced features.

May 2024 Security Patch Details

Samsung revealed May 2024 security patch includes fixes for 45 security vulnerabilities, with 33 being provided by Google. The company also divided the vulnerabilities into their category, citing 33 vulnerabilities as ‘Critical,’ while 26 are classified as ‘High’ in severity. It also listed 25 SVE items by Samsung. This update enhances the overall performance of Galaxy devices.

Google Pixel phones will get the third Beta update of Android 15 this month. The new OS remained limited to the Pixel devices till I/O 2024. Samsung will open its Android 15 Beta Program — One UI 7 — for Galaxy devices sometime in August 2024.

Following the I/O 2024 event, many Android vendors such as Xiaomi, OPPO, and OnePlus have commenced Public Beta for their flagships, which Samsung is not subjected to follow.

One UI 6.1 is the latest Galaxy skin based on Android 14. The Android 15-based One UI 7 will arrive on many Samsung devices later this year. While we are in the middle of 2024, we already know Galaxy devices are eligible for Android 15.
