On January 17, Samsung announced the Galaxy S24 series devices, equipped with One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI. While the new phones are pre-installed with One UI 6.1 and Galaxy AI, Samsung is already testing the new iteration on many older Galaxy devices, such as the S23 and S22 series.
One UI 6.1 introduces enhanced animation and system fluency to provide an intuitive experience. While there are no major changes in the user interface, you may notice minor tweaks across segments. Various new features are derived from Galaxy AI, powered by Google’s Gemini Pro.
As revealed by Samsung, the Galaxy AI introduces a real-time translation capability that works on phone calls too. Generative AI features make you play with your photos and videos as well as core Samsung apps are also packed with AI tools such as summarization and tone changer.
We may soon get our hands on the official One UI 6.1 features list for older Galaxy devices. Most of the software-derived functions of S24 series will be shared with the S23, S22 and S21 series. However, the company may continue to optimize others for the older models.

According to the info, Galaxy S24’s Galaxy AI features will be rolled out to Galaxy S23, S23 Plus, S23 Ultra, S23 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 5, Z Fold 5, Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9 Plus, and Tab S9 Ultra.

Samsung AR Emoji Editor has received the March 2024 update, which significantly improves the overall experience. The latest version of the update is 6.1.00.8 and is available on the Galaxy Store with an installation package size of 196.74MB.
The fresh update of Samsung AR Emoji Editor introduces refined designs for eyes and eyebrows, giving users more expressive avatars. Additionally, the update has improved facial expressions, which allows for a wider range of emotions to be captured and conveyed through the AR Emoji.
Users of Samsung Galaxy devices running Android 12 to Android 14 are receiving the Samsung AR Emoji Editor app March 2024 update. It is rolling out gradually so it may take some hours or days to reach all eligible devices.

Samsung plans to use NVIDIA’s Digital Twin tech to catch up with TSMC in Semiconductor yield: Report
Samsung and TSMC are currently the top contenders fighting to become leaders in the semiconductor market. Therefore, to catch up with TSMC and increase the Semiconductor yield, Samsung is planning to use its secret weapon NIVIDIA’S digital twin.
According to the report, Samsung Electronics is preparing a digital twin based on NVIDIA Omnibus for next-generation semiconductor manufacturing. However, the Korean tech giant will apply this technology to its semiconductor factories starting next year.
To be mentioned, Digital Twin is a secret weapon to increase the semiconductor yield, which lags behind TSMC. This technology being prepared by Samsung is expected to become the world’s first factory digital twin platform that can reach Level 5, the highest among smart factories.
This is expected to make defective product prevention and AI process analysis possible. It’s also worth mentioning that, Samsung will participate in NVIDIA GTC 2024 and the maker will present its digital twin technology and how to use it. In addition, Samsung may also unveil its plan to begin a digital twin pilot operation starting next year.
