Samsung Galaxy S25’s Exynos 2500 aims to crush Snapdragon 8 Gen 4

Samsung Exynos 2500

Samsung Galaxy S25 series may use Exynos 2500, which isn’t surprising news at all.

A new report says that the Samsung Galaxy S25 with Exynos 2500 may outpace its Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 counterpart regarding power efficiency. According to Business Korea, the Galaxy S25 series may be equipped with the next-gen Exynos processor.

The next-gen in-house Samsung processor will feature more advanced and efficient AI capabilities. Judging from the success of Exynos 2400, speculations are positive for its successor.

Galaxy S24 lineup’s Standard and Plus variants use Exynos 2400 chip in select markets. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is internationally shipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. Both application processors are fabricated on enhanced 4nm processes at Samsung and TSMC, respectively.

Since Snapdragon still has an edge over Exynos, the competition is getting fierce. Consumer response towards Exynos is also significantly helping the Galaxy maker to further evolve its mobile SoC segment.

Samsung x Synopsys

Earlier this month, it was revealed that Samsung is collaborating with Synopsys for the 3nm tapeout. This partnership is said to result in the successful mass production of prototypes of SoCs including mobile APs, based on a 3-nm process.

Galaxy S25’s Exynos 2500 is planned to enter mass production early next year. Samsung’s 2nd gen 3nm process node, slated to be used in Exynos 2500, features GAA (Gate-All-Around) transistors, which limit energy leakage and increase drive current.

OnePlus Open 2 to use more powerful Snapdragon chip than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 6

Published

OnePlus Open

OnePlus Open 2 is reportedly delayed to 2025 in favor of a fruitful chipset upgrade. Samsung is preparing to launch the Galaxy Z Fold 6 in July this year, whereas its toughest competitor seemingly pushed it to 2025, skipping a release later this year.

X tipster @That_Kartikey claims that the OnePlus Open 2 may not be coming this year. Oppo’s strategic foldables: Find N5 series is also reportedly halted. Another fairly reliable tipster @chunvn8888 revealed that the launch is scheduled for next year instead.

The next OPPO and OnePlus foldables would be equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chipset. The upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for Galaxy. Therefore, a delayed launch would result in a pretty beneficial upgrade.

OnePlus debuted its first foldable smartphone in late last year. It is a pretty powerful foldable handset, featuring pro-grade specifications. In 2023, it was the first time that Samsung faced a double-sided attack from Google and OnePlus in its foldable business.

While OnePlus delaying its foldable product, Samsung has also entered a review of the affordable Fold plan. The rumored Galaxy Z Fold 6 FE might not be released this year due to many reasons. Meanwhile, the Z Flip 7 FE may be launched alongside regular models next year.
